Default 315's scraping on body. help!

I just bought an 01 ss that has 315's on and is also lowered. I took it to houston this weekend and with two passengers every bump the frame would hit the side of the back right tire. Someone suggested to me getting a pan hard bar or something like that? I took it to a shop to get their opinion but they only worked on mustangs but told me that the tire was also scraping the inside of the frame. any suggestions?

Three things:

Big ******* Hammer (BFH)
Rolled Fenders
Adjustable Panhard Bar

Take the BFH and beat the inner fenders to free up space, roll the fenders with a fender rolling tool or a baseball bat and heatgun (carefully) to protect the tire from slicing, and then re-center the rearend under the body using the adjustable panhard bar.

The 315s will clear if you open up the wheel well a bit and make sure they are both centered inside the wells.

Jake's post above is spot on.

Only thing I would add is to check on the condition of your rear shocks.....I cut up a new pair of Nitto 305's years ago because the rear shocks were shot and I hadn't rolled fenders and centered the rear with an adjustable panhard bar.

Keep something in mind....the OP said he had two passengers in the car. Most of the time, when we enthusiasts "center" the rear end, with an adjustable PHB, there's generally nobody in the car. With the kind of load the OP was talking about, 3 people in the car, even with the rear end centered, he may incur rubbing with that large a tire. The adjustable PHB will minimize it, but it still will probably be there....

Remove any amount of passengers in the rear of any Fbody.

One chick in the passenger seat with double Ds is all that should be allowed in your vehicle. I can't believe you didn't read the manual!!!!

If you have enough spring rate, you can put three nice looking chicks with DDs in there.

If you have the cash, a Watts link will be better than the panhard rod. I ran into the same issue with my old set-up and it would cut the rear passenger tire when the rear was loaded due to the geometry of the PHR, but Watts link prevents it from offsetting to one side when loaded.

Yeah but if you roll the fenders you won't have a problem with them cutting the tires up.

IMO, with 315's roll the fender lips, BFH the inner fender wells, and get a ADJ. PHB. This should solve any clearance issues.
