So I read the Toyo 888r's are a good handling tire and fairly decent for straight line power anyone using them on the street?

Sadly I didn't get much help either. I did however get plenty on a mustang forum.

michelin pilot super sport is the only way to go for a street tire... Great grip, great tread life, and they weigh less than any other tire as well

a TT 427 is going to blast through any street tire. I like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport as well. but a 305/35/18 for the rear is going to be your limiting factor.

if you want to grip on the street i'd think about side wall more than width... It will help you alot more

I do need some handling and highway use for the tires as well so going with a taller tire will help straight line driving it will do the opposite for the other two.

i doubt you'll notice that much of a difference in handling by going so a slightly taller tire... Over rough bumpy corners a taller tire might even help more than a shorter one... a tt 427 should not even be in a car that wants to go around corners in the first place, that's way too much power... you'll be much happier with a tire setup that lets you maximize what you have all that power for

Well unfortunately it's a pro touring car so it's built to handle and go fast straight I know it will overpower pretty much any tire out there street wise I just want something that will help out the most! Are ther any DR's that can provide some handling and highway use? I'm not opposed to going to a 40 series tire if available!

I am going to bet that Toyo's R-888, RA-1, Nitto NT-01, P-Zero Trofeo, Michelin Sport Cup, and BFG Rival may give you the best of all worlds. Treadlife will not be fantastic, or wet weather perofrmance.

what is your rim size? i.e. how wide. the fronts are easy just get some Nitto Invo's, but the rears you may have to find a different size width to open up your possible options.

R888 if you want handling and want to attempt controlling that power. You're still going to blow them off with that kind of power, though.

So if I went pure DR's and for go the handling would that provide better traction on the street?

Depending on your choice of DR maybe marginally. I would estimate that my NT-05's have 95% of the straght line traction of my previous NT-555R, and much better grip and feel through corners. Almost no tire made, and certainly not one that will get around corners, is going to effectively hook up a TT 427 . In the words of Darell Waltrip, you are going to need and educated foot.

I think i'm going with a road course tire like the R888's sounds like it will do ok plus give me handling i will have to keep the twins turned down on any street tire and if i decide to hit the track allot i will get another set of rims and go full slicks.
So which of the listed road corse tires listed are the better choice?

I'd stick with the R888 then. just be mindful they need to heat up to stick and they are not as sticky in wet weather! listen to Darell Waltrip LOL
