BFH Mod for 15x10 on 99 Firebird
Anyone have any pictures of what you had to whack? Do you also have to grind the rear calipers? Im intrested on what it looks like when you are done modifying it to fit. I am not intrested in tearing up the car, but if i can just massage it to fit id like that. Also what size tire do you run on there without cutting the lip, but fender rolling is okay. Stock length rear, btw.
Thank you. (i did search, i looked at that what fits thread and its mostly about 17 and 18" wheels)
If its too damaging too the car, what about putting a 28x11.50 on a 15x8 wheel?

You'll have to grind the calipers, but you shouldn't have to touch the fenderwells with a 26" tire. I'm running 10" Prostars with 6.5" bs and 275/50 Nitto 555R's. You can also run the 7.5" bs but that'll put you closer to the inner fenderwell. Mine don't stick out past the top of the fender either. Not sure about the 28x11.50's on a 8" rim. They probably need a 15x10.

I'm running 15x10 Weld Magnums not really sure about the offest as I bought them used from a board member but they fit. I didn't have to roll the fender and I just did the BFH mod on the inside of the fenderwell (just a little massaging). This is on a 98Z with stock length rear and 28x10.50x15 M/T ET Drags.

I was looking on the MT website for a big tire that fits on a 8" rim and it said the 28x11.50 was reccomended no a 8". so did you have to grind and bfh, or just grind?

I have a 98 Formula:
15X10 Pro Stars, 7.5 backspacing
no spacer
hella grinding on brakes
minimal cutting
28x10.5x15 slicks
They will fit with some BFH'ing to the inner fender well, and removing of the bump stops.
15x8/5.5 will fit too.
A combo that will fit and not need much BFH'ing:
15x10 +
28x11.5x15 Hoosier or MT Street
The wider tires require the clearancing.

It's not bad with a good quality angle grinder. Just use the two big factory dimples as referance points. Once those are gone, smooth every thing out, take alittle off the top (forward facing part), and round off the pad brackets. Then hit the caliper with some paint, put the wheel on, and spin it to see where it's still hitting.

Your first side will take atleast an hour or maybe two. Once you figure out the first one the second one should be no problem. My second side only took about 15-20 minutes with only one test fit. I used a 4.5" 7 amp Craftsman grinder with a regular 24 grit metal disc. Made pretty quick work of the calipers, just make sure you have some ear plugs.
