6th Gen Camaro Takes on S197 Mustang in Epic Street Battle

By -

Latest installment in a long running feud pits naturally aspirated Camaro versus a Mustang with a heated finish.

It’s a battle older than time. Well, almost. But Camaro versus Mustang has been raging on since the former joined the latter on the market in 1967. Since then, these two muscle cars have been waging war in showrooms, at the track, and on the street. And personally, we never get tired of it. Especially when the action is as hot as it is in this video from YouTuber Valley Racing.

Here, we see a 6th gen Camaro take on an S197 Mustang for all the glory. And, well, two grand in cash. Both cars are naturally-aspirated, which makes for an interesting race. Both cars are also meth-injected, however. But to make things fair, both crews inspect each other to make sure there’s no funny business. In this case, that means nitrous. And they flip for lane choice and the type of light they’ll take off to.

There are many other rules to sort out as well. There’s no “chase is a race” here, as jumping means an automatic loss. Crossing is a bit hairy, as they don’t seem to care if you touch the line. So long as you don’t cross completely over, it’s all good. And if you’re losing, that doesn’t even matter. Street Outlaws, this ain’t.

These guys do prep the road, however, making for a nice sticky launch. As we’ve seen in the past, these dudes are pros. They ensure that both cars line up perfectly, making this as fair a fight as possible. With all of that sorted and burnouts out of the way, it’s finally time to race. And it’s a good one, as both cars are pretty even most of the way.

It’s hard to tell from behind, but a front view shows the Mustang taking it. Sadly, the GoPro that was attached to the Camaro was later taken by police, so that footage is M.I.A. So Ford trumps Chevy this time around, but you know that it won’t last long. Somewhere in the world, another battle is taking place nearly every minute. And we hope that it never ends!
