C7 Corvette Z06 With LMR 850 Package

This LMR-modified C7 Corvette Z06 proves why this combination of upgrades makes for the perfect weekend warrior.

With the C8 Corvette getting pretty much all of the attention from enthusiasts these days, it’s easy to forget that the C7 is a fantastic car in its own right – not to mention, way easier to tune and modify. In fact, those seeking to upgrade their C7 Corvette have a plethora of options out there, with many companies offering comprehensive packages that provide pre-determined levels of power. That list includes Late Model Racecraft in Houston, Texas, which has forged a name for itself in the market for doing quality work and selling an array of packages, such as the 850 hp upgrade that was just installed on this C7 Corvette Z06.

LMR’s 850 Performance Package is a pretty comprehensive offering, consisting of a Stage 3 cam upgrade, cold-air induction, stainless steel long-tube headers, high-flow cats, a dry sump damper, upgraded supercharger pulley and belt, flex fuel sensor, upgraded fuel system, spark plugs, wires, a new engine calibration, and a dyno tune. LMR also does all the little things, replacing the head gaskets and bolts, changing the oil and oil filter, and adding all the necessary fluids so the car is good to go once it rolls out of the shop.

Here, we get a sneak peek at how that process works, with the engine completed and ready to go back into the car. LMR also discusses the importance of having a good breather catch can system along with these upgrades, as well as going with a clutch upgrade to ensure that manual gearbox-equipped cars like this C7 Corvette Z06 can handle all of that extra power – which in this case is a twin-disc piece that came from McLeod.

After a quick dyno test to validate the car’s 850 horsepower output, LMR hits the road to make sure that everything is functioning as it should, too. The beauty of this package is that it can run on either 93 octane pump gas or E85, and in this case, it’s built to go fast in a straight line thanks to its 18-inch wheels and massive 355-series tires out back.

As our host points out, this combination is a great one because the C7 Z06 platform can easily handle this level of power and still be a reliable car capable of taking on road trips – and who wouldn’t want something like that?
