Newest kit from ProCharger supercharges LT2 V8 in the C8 Corvette, will have the new ‘Vette whistling with over 700 horsepower!

Ever since the first production mid-engine C8 Corvette rolled out of Bowling Green back in February, the aftermarket worked to make it theirs. Some focused on appearance, others on handling. A few, though, wondered how much more power they could get out of the 6.2-liter LT2 V8. After all, 495 horses may be fine for some, but others wanted more. Preferably without waiting for the next Z06 to arrive.

For them, the wait will soon end. According to GM Authority, Kansas-based ProCharger Superchargers teased their latest kit, capable of smoking the meats with over 700 horsepower.

“What does a 700-horsepower LT2 sound like,” ProCharger asked on its website. “Thanks to the amazing engineers at ProCharger, the world’s first bolt on supercharger system for the Corvette C8 platform, is just around the corner.”

Details are few and far between right now, but the company says their new kit can be bolted-on, intercooled, and run on the finest fuel you can buy at your local convenience store. This development alone should command the attention of C8 owners looking to get naughty real fast.

According to our friends over at Corvette Forum, it’s possible part of ProCharger’s magic involves the ECU. The stock unit is harder to crack than Fort Knox, no doubt frustrating others looking for gains. There are turbo kits out and about making around the 700 horses ProCharger is ready to throw down. However, those units make do without talking to the ECU, opting for brute force and pumped-up internal components.

Whatever code ProCharger cracked, the result sounds glorious. Not only does it whistle while it works to make those horses, the LT2 growls like never before. And that’s just on the cold start. Once on the road, though, it balls-out. No one will know what hit ’em until they hear your C8 disappear in gust of thunderous speed and fury.

As for how much it’ll cost to drop this masterpiece upon your LT2, that’s a detail for ProCharger to reveal at another time. We just can’t wait to see a few C8 Corvettes unleash the beat all over the back of everyone’s heads.
