These guys are really stretching the definition of “car” for this salvage auction.

Anyone who likes to dabble in stupid race car builds and cheap hoonery is aware of Copart. If you are out of the loop, Copart is a massive online auction house for crashed, flooded or otherwise salvaged vehicles. Think of it like eBay or Craigslist, but exclusively for reject cars. We’ve seen some wild and barely recognizable piles of metal on Copart, but this latest auction takes the cake. According to them, the pile of ash and garbage you see above is a “2015 Corvette.”

Ok. We have some serious questions here.

Who in the hell would actually buy this? Who in the hell would try to sell this? How in the hell did they even transport it to the Copart salvage yard?! Like, did someone just show up with a big bucket, and then dump it into a vaguely Corvette-shaped pile? If it wasn’t for what’s left of the exhaust we don’t even know how you would tell this muddy heap was ever a Corvette.

It gets better though.

On the Copart site, this Corvette is listed with a non-repairable title from Texas, but then the estimated retail value is listed as $42,838. If you thought that number was funny, wait until you get farther down the listing. They have color of the car marked as “BURN.” That’s not the condition, that’s not the damage, that’s what they put as the color.

Unsurprisingly there have been no bids on this auction yet, but you can theoretically take this “car” home for as little as the $30 minimum bid. Who knows, maybe you can turn it into an art instillation or something. Mix it with garage floor sealer and you can park your Corvette on top of what’s left of a Corvette.
