In a new video, Chevy teases us with the possibility of upcoming Corvette donning the notable racing livery, and we’re in heaven.

It was about one year ago that Chevy debuted the 2020 C8 Corvette. And apparently, they plan on keeping the momentum going. The automaker may have just dropped some major hints on what is coming next for the 2021 Corvette. And it is definitely news to get excited about. Chevy recently released a 14-second clip to their Facebook page that shows the Corvette in the iconic Gulf racing livery.

In the post, Chevy says “It’s time to earn some new racing stripes. Check back soon for news.” What follows is a series of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shots of the sports car, including renderings of the ‘Vette in the Gulf livery. We also see a sleek black C8 with red racing stripes.

Additionally, we see a number of ‘Vettes in black with yellow stripes, white with blue stripes, and–of course–the unmistakable Gulf Oil blue with orange trim.”We’re adding to the legacy,” the video says.

So, what does this mean? Well, it is intriguing, but honestly…we’re not sure–thus, the teasing. The video ends with the Corvette emblem with “2021” below.

Corvette has confirmed that when it makes its upcoming debut, it will offering an expanded range of color options. It is safe to assume that this tease implies that Chevy will including racing liveries. A great idea that nicely befits such a car.

With the C8 Corvette securing a major hit for Chevy, it is a smart move to expand on the popularity by offering more–and very cool–options.

Due to circumstances that arose from the Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent and plant shutdowns that the automaker needs to finish production on the 2020 C8s. As for the upcoming 2021 models, Chevy is anticipating that they will start rolling off the lines in November. Another piece of great news is that the 2021 C8 Corvette will continue to be offered at the same base price of $59,995 and $67,495 for the coupe and convertible, respectively.

But when it comes to a union between the new Corvette and the historic Gulf livery, we think it is a match made in automotive heaven. We will keep you posted, but check out the video.
