Chevy Ups Its Competitor Trade Deal to $3,000

Chevy has been offering a special discount to Mustang owners for the past couple of months and has now added an additional $500 off.

Back in August, we brought you the story of Chevy offering Mustang Owners a substantial discount if they trade them for a Camaro. Evidently, this hasn’t been driving the sales they suspected. Though, instead of deciding to drop the idea, they made it a bit sweeter.

You can see it for yourself plain and clear on the Chevy website. As of now, any Ford Mustang owner can get themselves a $3,000 cash allowance on a brand new Camaro. Though Chevrolet isn’t the first company to pull this kind of thing, you have to admire the bluntness of it all. No dancing around it, no subtle hinting. Just full-blown unadulterated free-market strategy.

You have to admit, too, it must be tempting. The Camaro lineup is offering some pretty insane stuff these days. If you want to be at the top of the pack, the Zl1 packs a fierce 650 horsepower thanks to its force-fed 6.2 liter V8. If the supercharged powerhouse isn’t up your alley, there are plenty of options out there. For a much more modest price, the SS still offers 455 horsepower and the heritage honoring eight cylinders powerplant. If you want fuel efficiency with all the looks, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder is on the table for you.

With the discount, the price of the base Camaro drops to $22,995 and lowers the cost of the ZL1 to $59,995. There are a few stipulations to the deal, of course. The biggest of them is the requirement of taking delivery by October 31st, 2019. If you’re driving a Mustang and you’re on the fence about this deal, you’d better act quick.

Additionally, it vaguely states that the offer is not available with special finance and lease options. Furthermore, it says that not all customers will qualify. We assume there is a model year cutoff for eligible Mustangs.

Overall, Chevy has some pretty killer Camaro deals on right now. Not just for Mustang owners, either. There’s plenty of special lease and rebate options, so if you’ve been eying that new Camaro, now might be the time to act!
