2023 Corvette Z06

Chevrolet finally gives us a taste of the 2023 Corvette Z06. There is still much to speculate but a flat-plane crank seems guaranteed.

Happy Monday everyone! A Monday is not usually cause for celebration, but Monday July 19 is a bit different thanks to the folks at Chevrolet. After months of nothing but rumors and speculations, we finally get some actual intel on the 2023 Corvette Z06. While we still don’t have any specifics such as power numbers, or price or release date, we did get something. That something was a teaser video dropped on the Chevrolet YouTube channel.

The video is only twenty-four seconds long. However, it is the most thrilling twenty four that has does not involve Jack Bauer. It also, answers a couple important questions. One is that the 2023 Corvette Z06 will be officially unveiled this Fall. The other is the engine under the hood. We don’t know the stats but from listening to this video it sure as hell sounds like it will be of the flat-plane crank variety.

Here is what Chevrolet had to say:

Two years ago this week, Chevrolet introduced a revolutionary twist in the Corvette story: the first-ever mid-engine Corvette Stingray. This fall, the story will continue with the reveal of the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06, the supercar that will put the world on notice.

Checkout the video below. Make sure your speakers are on and cranked up loud. The video begins with the sound of the Z06 being fired up. It then proceeds to attack apex after apex on the track. Then the scene changes to the street. Although the scene changes, the sound and intensity do not. The C8 Corvette is already a world beater.

The base stingray has supercar-like performance numbers. This Z06 may have hyper car performance numbers. It is also going to sound completely different than the base C8. This car is going to sound like an exotic from Europe.

According to Car and Driver, it will be powered by a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 engine that should rev close to 9000 rpm and make more than 600 horsepower It will not be cheap, but it will likely undercut anything that comes out of Italy by several hundred thousand dollars. Even after dealers tack on their markups to the Z06.

Now that you heard it, what do you think? Are you more excited than you were before? Does this video have you calling your local dealer to place your order? Do you have any concerns? We can’t wait to see and hear more as we get closer to the reveal. Stay tuned as we will share any new news that we come across. In the meantime, let us know what you think of this teaser video.
