Custom Built Husqvarna Racing Lawn Mower Uses LS Power
Mow grass or haul ass? This Husqvarna racing lawn mower built by a Russian tool company can do both.
LS all the things. It has been said many times. LS power can make just about anything better. Certainly, many cars, trucks, and SUVs can benefit from a good LS swap. By why stop there? Surely anything with wheels can be improved with a shot of vitamin LS, right? If you are not convinced, maybe you should check out this Husqvarna racing lawn mower. Are you tired of wasting a whole Saturday mowing your lawn with your 24-horsepower garden tractor with a top speed of maybe 8 mph? Well, we don’t have the official top speed of this LS-swapped unit. But considering it has a drag chute attached to the back we bet it is higher than 8 mph.
A video of this Husqvarna racing lawn mower was recently shared on the American Racing Instagram page. American Racing is a Colorado-based custom wheel company. But they are not the builders of this creation. The original video was posted nearly a year ago on the Kuvaldaru Instagram page. That is the official page of the Russian tool company Kuvalda. It was Kuvalda that completed this build. It seems that even the Russians understand the value and benefits of LS power.
The Build
Sadly, specifications of this build are practically nonexistent. We don’t know the horsepower rating, the top speed or most importantly the size of the mower deck. But it does appear to be LS-powered and this is not some slipshod build either.
Everything looks like it fits well and was well thought out in the planning stage. What we do know is that this thing sounds awesome. And based on the short acceleration runs that we get to see, it sure seems quick. Which would make sense as there is not much weight to haul around.
Lawn Mower Racing
It may seem a bit ridiculous, but lawn mower racing is a real thing. We are not sure what racing organizations exist in Russia. However, in the United States we have the United States Lawn Mower Racing Association which was founded back in 1992. Was this Husqvarna racing lawn mower built to compete in a competitive series? Or was it built because it would just be a laugh to own and drive? We don’t know but either way we love it.
LS Flexibility
This mower is yet another example of how flexible and adaptable the LS platform is. What else can we use it for? How about an LS-powered skateboard? Maybe staying in the lawn care industry there is room for an LS-powered weed whacker.
Or maybe a chainsaw? The possibilities are endless. Obviously, we are having a bit of fun here and we are sure the days of this garden tractor mowing lawns are now over. But it is builds like this that keep our hobby interesting and exciting. Folks thinking outside the box is what it is all about. We will say it one more time. LS all the things.
