Watch Monster Drag Cars Racing On NASCAR Pit Lane

No-prep racers leave some big-tire 11s all the way down the pits at Kansas oval.

We’re mighty impressed with people who make a habit of no-prep racing, although we’ve noticed the quality of “non-prep” varies from event to event. However, we have nothing bad to say about the no-prep conditions at Kansas Speedway’s pit lane. Big-tire cars throwing down huge power there? That’s a recipe for entertainment, even when NASCAR won’t be there for another week.

No Prep Racing NASCAR

As it turns out, pit lanes don’t have much grip. Sure, stock cars come and go, but most of that rubber gets laid down in the pit boxes. Those sit to the left of the “racing surface.” Instead, these drag racers faced an almost-green track. That meant lots of sliding and blowing the tires off.

Those few cars that managed to get their power to the ground made out the best. Most cars faced some big challenges getting all the tire to hook up on the virgin surface, however. That made lots of the races pedal-fests. The fastest car doesn’t always win — even in NASCAR — and in this case, the driver with the most receptive right foot took those honors more often than not.

Urban Hillbilly Videos caught the crazy action as part of Operation Outlaw No Prep at Kansas Speedway. While a number of big hitters were at the Street Outlaws No Prep event in Memphis, this race was not hurting for fast cars. Larry Larson’s 5-second Chevy S10 was the class of the field, but a number of other cars put on a real show.

The Urban Hillbilly video shows off great views of the event and what makes it so challenging. The track was short and the shutdown area occasionally including the steep NASCAR banking. That made for plenty of interesting moments, though nothing quite as nuts as this no-prep race.
