Farrah Fawcett’s ‘Foxy Corvette’ Hitting Auction Block

Foxy Vette Farrah Fawcett

George Barris has designed some of the coolest cars that have ever been made. Right now, this may not look like one of them.

But back in the day when Barris — the man who gifted us the Lincoln Futura-based 1966 Batmobile –designed this custom 1970 Corvette especially for stunner Farrah Fawcett, this may just have been as cool as it gets. With its “fully-mink interior,” way ahead-of-its-time onboard TV, and a very limited rotary mobile phone, this C3 must have pleased Farrah greatly.

But pretty girls need new gifts, and Farrah put this one aside. Or she just had the good sense to throw it in storage. Or someone else did. Regardless, it’s been sitting pretty near Fawcett’s hometown in Texas for decades. The ‘Vette was recently found, basically in the condition you see here. All original, as it was stored — just needed a crank or three to get her running.

With a little more work, just imagine the possibilities. I’m not talking about changing anything, just cleaning it up to show-car quality. Oh, she’ll be plenty cool again someday. And you can be the one to bring her back.

This baby’s going under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale at the end of the month, with no reserve. But that certainly doesn’t mean she won’t be pricey. You don’t get the name “Foxy ‘Vette” without being wanted.
