We’ve been following this 4th Gen. Firebird since it was a heads and cam, T56 car back in 2011 and it has gotten progressively faster as the owner made the swap to a TH400 and further honed the combo. As for the details, it features a built 347 bottom-end, AFR 205 heads, a custom cam from Martin at Tick, the aforementioned TH400 transmission, a PTC4500 stall, a 12-bolt rearend and 26-inch tall Mickey Thompson drag radials.

According to his thread, this pass was on a 100-shot and even though he let out early, this was still his fastest run to date. He’d used a 200-shot on his old combo and still wasn’t able to sneak into the 9s, which goes to show you that it’s not just about a huge shot of nitrous, but rather a well-sorted combination of traction, weight, power, etc.

*Check out the Craven velocity-stack intake that would lead many to believe a giant snail is residing behind the bumper. But they’d be wrong; it’s a unique intake that’s apparently worth some ET and MPH at the track!

Read all about it in the the THREAD.
