See what the brilliant maniacs have done to the C8 Corvette now.

The crew at Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) are genuinely twisted. And that is a compliment of the highest order. Because it is just that unorthodox thinking that pushes performance to unthinkable levels. For years, HPE has tuned vehicles to levels that are as brutal as they are transcendent. Some of their most inspired projects are those showcasing LS architecture. And there are few cars stirring up the status quo quite like Corvette. Recently, HPE showed off new upgrades to the C8 Corvette, this time focusing on the wheels and exhaust.

HPE has already done impressive work to the mid-engine Corvette. In fact, they were the first to break the 200 mph barrier for the C8, and hold the record for the fastest 2020 Corvette hitting a speed of 205.1 mph.

Adding a twin-turbocharger to Corvette’s LT2 6.2-liter V8 is the first order of business. In addition to the mind-blowing twin-turbo system, performance upgrades to their HPE1200 Twin Turbo C8 Corvette include suspension, brakes, carbon fiber body components, and now new custom wheels and exhaust.

In the clip we get a taste of how the new wheels and exhaust interpret to the road. It’s brutal, blistering, and excessive…and we love it.

If you want a greater performance, you’re going to have to reduce weight, and they’ve done so nicely with their wheels. And the H10 forged alloy C8 wheels look great and they perform. With 22 lbs. less rotational mass than OEM wheels, the 19- front/20-inch rear wheels beautifully enhance the revs and the power.

Gains continue with the custom T304 stainless steel C8 exhaust. Very sharp, and sees an increase of 21 RWHP and 19 lb-ft torque over the factory exhaust system. Another benefit is it is lighter to the tune of 11 lbs. You cannot deny the pure power listening to this very satisfying note.

It is a teaser, but it is effective.

Hennessey has added their own brand of insanity to a wide range of makes and models, and have proven their mettle boosting LS beasts. Aftermarket tuning is always on the cusp of the next big boost, and just make the automotive world a little more interesting and lot more wild.
