2016 Hennessey Yukon HPE650 Supercharged XL Cars and Bids Auciton

Blacked-out Yukon XL Denali blends style and interior luxury with a brutal Hennessey supercharged touch. This ain’t a soccer mom’s SUV.

When you hear Hennessey, you immediately think of things like the Exorcist Camaro, Hennessey twin-turbo Corvettes, and even the almighty Hennessey Venom. However, what doesn’t typically come to mind is the humble GMC Yukon. However, maybe this one will change your mind. We’ve got to admit; it’s going to live rent-free in our heads for a while.

This blacked-out beast is currently up for auction on Cars and Bids, and, even without knowing what lies under the hood, passersby would undoubtedly take a look. Thanks to its custom front grille with an integrated light bar, matte black finish, and its stacked set of 24-inch DUBs, you’d be hard-pressed not to notice it. However, the powerplant under the hood is enough to completely blow the exterior appearance out of the water. Let’s take a look at what makes this beast extra evil.

Plenty of Power on Deck

Let’s face it, Hennessey doesn’t do anything halfway. This is undoubtedly no exception. Lift the hood on this Yukon, and you’ll find an intercooled Whipple 2.9-liter supercharger parked on top of the 6.2-liter V8. Accommodating the supercharger in its exploits is an upgraded fuel system and a custom tune from Hennessey.  Further complimenting these modifications is a custom-ground camshaft. Finally, Kooks headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a Borla cat-back exhaust complete the story. Even knowing who built it and what it is about, though, doesn’t stop us from being shocked by the dyno sheet included with the sale.

This monster of a family hauler is making a whopping 647 horsepower and 651 pound-feet of torque at all four wheels. We can’t even imagine what that is like to drive. For comparison’s sake, that is 100 horsepower more than some C8 Corvettes see on the dyno. The kids will never be late for practice again. We promise.

Support for All that Power

Aside from the power modifications, this Yukon has some pretty cool other modifications as well. In the back, it has a Truckvault locking cargo box with three 10-inch JBL subwoofers sitting atop it in a custom box. Additionally, it has a lowering kit installed and 24-inch DUB S116 wheels with Nitto 420S tires. It has a lowering kit and upgraded 15-inch brakes, as well. Finally, it has a Hotchkis sway bar kit. Make no mistake, it may have a lot of power, but it safely puts it all to the ground.

While it does have a few listed flaws, such as the wrap peeling in places and some scrapes on the wheels, we think this is going to fetch a pretty decent number. At the time of writing, there are two days left in the auction with a current bid of $42,000, which is about what a standard Yukon XL Denali in this model year would sell for. Perhaps, then, the new owner is going to win this thing for a steal. After all, the list of modifications to this thing has to stack up to some pretty astounding numbers. Either way, it’s a pretty unique and awesome vehicle.
