Late Model Racecraft took a dozen their fastest cars to OKC to take on the ‘Street Outlaws’ crew recently.

Most car enthusiasts are at least aware of the popular TV show Street Outlaws, a series that features a number of colorful characters duking it out on the street (a closed-off section of it, at least) each week for little more than the glory of being the fastest person around. For years, the folks from Oklahoma City have largely ruled the roost in that regard, in spite of being challenged by racers from all around the country. Now, it seems as if Late Model Racecraft is the latest to try and take that crown after the tuner took a dozen of its own quick cars to the 405 for a bit of racing.

In this video, we get a little behind the scenes look at LMR’s prep for its appearance on Street Outlaws, which is quite involved as one might imagine. The type of surface plays a big role in things, as asphalt and concrete require different considerations in terms of tuning and tires. Tire pressure, suspension settings, and boost are all adjusted accordingly, all with one goal – to reach the finish line first, preferably while also maintaining traction from the launch to the top end.

LMR isn’t talking about how things actually went down at Street Outlaws – that much will be revealed when the show actually airs – but it does show some of its cars getting dialed in prior to the action. That includes a wicked C7 Corvette, first-gen Camaro, a C8 Corvette, and a variety of other GM models making some test runs, all of them launching quite nicely and looking pretty quick, at least.

Things wrap up with a parking lot meeting the day of the race, where we get to check out a wide array of eye candy – pretty much all of it consisting of GM products. It’s an enticing teaser by all means, even for those that can’t stand the seemingly manufactured drama that shows like Street Outlaws utilize to keep fans coming back. With any luck, LMR had tremendous success on this particular episode, but we’ll just have to wait to discover how things shook out.
