Watch the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Kick Some Serious Ass

CTS-V

An atmospherically powerful 640 horsepower, supercharged V8 engine powers the third generation CTS-V. It can rocket the big sedan to 60 miles per hour before you have the chance to blink. It also represents the most powerful car, Cadillac has ever built.

On this episode of Ignition, Randy Pobst and Jonny Lieberman from MotorTrend put the big Cadillac to the test by throwing it around on a racetrack, then pitting it against a few Ferraris at the Virginia City Hillclimb.

The Cadillac is powered by the same supercharged LT4 V8 found in the Corvette Z06, but detuned by 10 horsepower and 10 lb-ft or torque. Why, we really have no idea, but it’s possible that it’s due to driveline loss. However, none of that matters as we get to witness Randy Pobst absolutely flog the CTS-V around Big Willow, and then watch Jonny flog it at the hillclimb.

Will it beat a few Ferraris? Let’s find out.
