Reminder: Camaro ZL1 Still Fast, Still Can’t Drive Under Water
Now that the flippin’ awesome new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is out, let’s use today’s #flashback action to remember a sad/hilarious story about the out-going ZL1 from two years ago when one driver got a little hot on the pedal and took an unexpected turn.
A Texas teenager, who had one of his friends driving right behind him, was driving a 2014 ZL1, which houses that massively powerful 580-horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged V8. His friend believed he had taken traction control off, and watched as the car lost control, drove through a fence, and flew right into the refreshment of a town community pool. Thankfully, at the time this happened, the pool was not in use.
The driver had reportedly been seen at a Cars and Coffee early that day showing off his brand new $56,000 car. At least he got to show it off before he lost her.
