Jet turbine power and on-road/off-road modes make this C8 Batmobile a ‘worthy successor to the Tumbler.’

When the Gotham City night sky shows that instantly recognizable bat symbol, a machine is called into action. It’s Batman‘s Batmobile, and over the decades, it’s had numerous iterations. From car-based rides to entirely fictitious modes of transportation, and back to car-based realism once more. That inspired the folks from HotCars to come up with their own version, based on the C8 Corvette.

HotCars gave this one a bit of a rally fighter kind of stance, inspired by the likes of Porsche’s 911 Dakar off road model. With a “push of a button” the C8 rises, giving considerable ground clearance. Important when you’re going through the rougher parts of town. The tires also go from street treat to blocky treads, too. HotCars says that’s maybe done by higher pressures, but you want low pressure for off-road. But thanks to Hollywood magic, those kinds of semantics don’t matter.

When you’re in need to go somewhere fast, the car can hunker down once more. Fire up the jet turbine and you’ll be zooming off to fight more bad guys in no time flat. What isn’t flat though, is the body. The front has a subtle added extra lip, but the roof now sports a big scoop for the turbine.

A rear diffuser is also a new addition, too. And as you’ll notice, the rear has tail fins akin to Batmobile models of the past. Another nod to the past is the red trim accents that give a nod to the original Lincoln Futura used in the ’60s. Defense mechanisms aren’t on this rendering.

HotCars mentions that it would be a great way for Chevrolet to introduce the ZR1. They might have a good point. The list of cars introduced by movies is quite a long one. Aston Martin debuted the DB10 in the James Bond flick “Spectre,” for instance. Unlike Bond, Batman has a “more gentle” (for what it is worth) approach to justice, so this Corvette Batmobile doesn’t have any gadgets like hidden guns or explosives. It is, however, a perfect vehicle to bring justice to those who deserve it.
