RIDE ON! A LS2-Powered 1985 Jeep CJ7

LS1 RO 1

When we think of the LS engine, a few select rides come to mind. Particularly, the Chevrolet Camaro or Corvette, and the Pontiac Firebird. Of course, there are many other rides out there that sport this amazing engine as well, and to completely neglect them would be a terrible crime of omission.

Some of these rides are made by GM, such as the GTO, and others have had the motor dropped in later on in life. After all, there’s nothing like a V8 Miata tearing up the street!

Today we’ll be stepping into the garage of LS1Tech member Mercier, who is the proud owner of a rather odd LS-powered ride, and taking a closer look at what lies within!

LS1 RO 2

Mercier’s ride is a 1985 Jeep CJ7, but it’s certainly not your ordinary ’80s Jeep. In fact, it’s, arguably, hardly a Jeep at all! Powered by an LS2 engine, this V8 all-terrain vehicle is one to be admired.

As it sits now, it has a 4″ lift, 33″ tires, 1.5″ shorty headers, a ported LSA blower, 2.5″ duals, 2-chamber flows, a T56 Magnum, and more. This is definitely a ride that has seen a lot of attention, and it appears to be well worth it!

While not a “regular” LS ride, this unique rig is very impressive! Go stop by Mercier’s garage and leave some comments, browse the photography, and have a great time! Be sure to keep your garage up to date and maybe you’ll be featured next week on RIDE ON!
