SEMA coverage tends to lean toward the over-the-top, because in a lot of ways the show is a celebration of craziness—but there’s also loads of unmolested iron. Perfect example? Baseball legend Reggie Jackson’s Rallye Green 1969 Yenko Camaro. I saw this baby in the Classic Industries booth on Wednesday, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
Mr. October’s ride is rocking the original L72 427 big block mated to a Muncie four-speed, sports a Hurst shifter, and rolls on Atlas five-spoke wheels. And while he did a commercial for Panasonic back in the day, Jackson kept the interior pretty much stock, down to the AM radio in the dash. Check out the video from Chop Cut Rebuild and a bunch of picks of this bitchin’ Camaro below.
John Coyle's first memories are of identifying makes and models while driving with his dad. His favorite vehicles smell like gasoline, shoot fire, and sound like buildings falling down. Before he began his career in the automotive field, he daily drove a 1978 Jaguar XJ6 with a fully functional electrical system. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
