SEMA 2012: Which of These Stunning Hot Wheels Camaros Would You Take Home?
Last year at SEMA, the Hot Wheels Camaro with the killer chrome green paint was a massive hit. Given the enthusiastic response, the General decided to make a Hot Wheels option package for 2013, and it was revealed at a private party at the Venetian Monday night. The wheels—black on silver with a red pinstripe around the perimeter—will be instantly recognizable to any fan of the toy cars. This is just an appearance package which uses a couple of bits from the ZL1, some trick interior accents, and a bunch of badges. The big boy toys will be available in V6 and SS trim, but the kiddie livery won’t be found on the 580hp ZL1

Unfortunately, the mirror green won’t be available because getting that finish to work is virtually impossible. It’s a two stage process—the chrome goes on first, followed by the green tint—and any small imperfection in the chrome ruins the whole deal. There’s also no way to repair it, so rock chip and door dings would become involuntary tattoos.  After all the trial and error, the final tally for 2011’s finish was somewhere in the 60K range. Ouch.

And while the 5th Gen was cool—the ghost flames against the Kinetic Blue paint look sick in person—the ’69 was simply stunning. The white interior looked gorgeous, and the little details like the side exhaust were taken straight from the original Hot Wheels Camaro released back in the ’60s. How cool is that? Check out all the pics below. Which would you rather have? Take the poll!
