This week’s Dyno Blast video features a gorgeous 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible restomod packing the General Motors LSA V8.

What we have here is a 1974 version of the Super Duty. A 455 cubic inch motor, 7.5Ls of displacement, and a quarter mile that was blitzed in just 13.71 seconds in 1973. Only 212 Trans Am 455 Super Dutys were built due to the burgeoning oil crisis that was sweeping the nation. This makes the Trans Am 455 Super Duty extremely rare.

I’m going to make a big claim, most of you won’t agree with me, but I don’t care. The F-Body cars are some of the coolest cars GM ever produced.

It doesn’t take much to appreciate a solid Pontiac Firebird. These cars are just a wonderful example of what Pontiac once was — the manufacturer of superb muscle cars.
