Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hits big screens next summer with some real retro appeal.

Fans of the now-long-running Transformers franchise – and even those that don’t follow it too closely – are well aware of a character called Bumblebee, which has been depicted on-screen in a variety of forms, including as a whole variety of various Chevy Camaro variants, though he also went a bit rogue as a Jeep Wrangler and even a Volkswagen Beetle at one point. Now, however, Bumblebee is back to his second-gen Camaro roots in the latest movie in this series – Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

This piece of information comes to us from the newly-released trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which reveals quite a few tasty tidbits about the future flick. That includes the fact that the movie will feature a 964-gen Porsche 911, a Volkswagen microbus, and of course, Optimus Prime in his traditional semi-truck guise.

But of course, our focus is on the correct move the folks behind this new movie made by making Bumblebee a pretty sweet second-gen Camaro once again, finished in the traditional hues of yellow with black accents, though in this case, it’s also apparently capable of transforming into a hardcore off-road machine, as we can see in the short clip.

Aside from those sweet new rides, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will continue the franchise’s reputation for providing some over-the-top action on the big screen, though this time, it’s more focused on ’90s style than before. The human stars in the new film are arguably as notable as the vehicles it features as well, with a lineup that includes Peter DinklagePete DavidsonMichaela Jaé Rodriguez, Anthony Ramos, and Dominique Fishback. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to hit theaters on June 9, 2023.
