2019 Corvette ZR1

Security cameras captured images of the suspects stealing the Corvette ZR1 from Mercedes-Benz of Calabasas.

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is the fastest and most valuable of the C7 Corvettes. The car is powered by a supercharged LT5 V8 making 755 horsepower. These Corvettes can easily fetch over $150,000 in the open market. Everyone knows how special these cars are. That includes car thieves. On November 12 a pair of thieves broke into Mercedes-Benz of Calabasas and drove away in a blue 2019 Corvette ZR1. The Los Angels County Sheriff’s Department has reached out to the public for help finding these suspects.

Recently a post appeared on the X social media page of the Los Angels County Sheriff’s Department – Lost Hills Station. The post is a special bulletin asking for help identifying the suspects. Per the bulletin the suspects shattered a pane of glass on a metal roll up gate and entered the delivery garage. They then managed to start the car and drive it out of the dealership. The car was wearing a paper “Mercedes-Benz of Calabasas” rear license plate. The security footage also shows that the thieves may not have cleared the gate entirely during their escape and may have damaged the roof of the Corvette ZR1.

Spotted the Next Day

On November 13 the stolen Corvette was spotted at the Burger King located at 700 Cesar Chavez Avenue in Los Angeles. The car has not been seen since. Anyone with information about the alleged burglary are urged to contact the sheriff’s station at 818-878-1808. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477. Hopefully this legendary Corvette can be recovered soon, and is still in one piece.
