Video: Why You Love and Hate Street Racing
Like with many things in life, the element of danger, mischief and running the risk of getting caught makes many brainless and stupid things doable and even enjoyable. In case you’re not sure what I’m referring to, watch this video.
Illegal street racing. It’s stupid, highly-dangerous, and of course; illegal. With more and more race tracks, drag strips and other type of motorsport venues popping up across the country, people still look for trouble on public streets filled with innocent motorists and pedestrians, only putting many lives under unnecessary risk.
None of those variables seem to face the folks from Missouri involved in the making of this street video, as it looks like a scene out of the Need for Speed Underground video game, or even a Fast and the Furious movie.
Highly tuned machines and muscle cars lineup on the streets to race mega-powerful competitors like, Skinnies TT Fox 1200 HP twin turbo Fox Body LS-Swapped Fox Body Mustang, and a twin turbo big-block, 1100 HP FR8Train Firebird from a popular hot rod TV show.
While I (like many of us) enjoy stepping on the throttle, and perhaps dipping into speeds that are at times not legal in certain areas, it’s important to keep in mind that uncontrolled environments will always pose great risks and could lead to accidents and even death.
