Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette Smokes Dual-Motor Tesla Cybertruck

Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette vs Tesla Cybertruck Drag Race

It may not be the Cyberbeast, but this dual-motor EV pickup doesn’t stand a chance against the Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette.

Ever since it originally debuted back in 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck has remained one of the most polarizing and controversial vehicles on the planet. This is largely due to the fact that its exterior styling is unlike anything we’ve ever seen – at least on an actual production vehicle – which has quite literally split the automotive enthusiast world in half, with some loving the look, and others, well, hating it. Regardless, there’s no denying that the Cybertruck – like most EVs – is incredibly quick in a straight line, but can it take down something like the new Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette?

That’s a question the Texas-based tuner had the chance to answer recently after getting its hands on a dual-motor Cybertruck. This tidbit is notable given the fact that this is not the top-trim, three-motor Cyberbeast, which churns out 845 horsepower – but rather, the dual-motor version that makes 600 horsepower via two electric motors, though it is still driving all four wheels. Then there’s the fact that this Cybertruck tips the scales at 6,600 pounds, which is undeniably hefty.

Regardless, Tesla says that the dual-motor Cybertruck can still do 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, which is pretty quick, if not in the same realm as the Cyberbeast, which can rocket to 60 mph in a mere 2.6 seconds.

In the other lane, we have a pretty formidable foe on this particular day, however – the brand new Hennessey H700 C8 Corvette hard top convertible, which utilizes a host of upgrades including a supercharger, a high-flow air induction system, an air-to-water intercooler, a cat-back exhaust, and a tune to churn out a cool 708 horsepower and 638 pound-feet of torque.

Even in convertible guise as is the case here, the H700 tips the scales at around 3,600 pounds, which obviously gives it a massive power-to-weight advantage versus the large EV pickup. However, while that doesn’t always matter when we’re talking all-electric vehicles versus ICE models, it does show up here in a big way, as the C8 rockets off the line to an early advantage and never looks back, increasing its sizable gap over the Cybertruck the whole way down this unprepped track.

Of course, we’d rather see a Cyberbeast in this particular type of matchup, as it would have presumably led to a much closer result. Regardless, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this supercharged C8 take that range-topper down either, given this result – coupled with the fact that a stock Stingray can already do 0-60 in under three seconds, with a whopping 213 fewer horsepower compared to the H700.
