This is the kind of story we love to see. When he picked it up in 2010, Dave’s 2001 Camaro SS had 56k on the clock, and already had loads of mods. But he wanted to make the car his own, so he sold off all the bits he didn’t need—including a barely used nitrous setup—and went to work.
He’s wanted a turbo car for over a decade, and the funds have forced him have to give up on the projects twice before. While this build hasn’t been completely smooth—check out what he discovered about his turbo during install—but everything is coming together now. Last Tuesday, the new beast fired up, and it sounds mean as hell. Bravo Dave! We can’t wait to see some videos of this baby tearing down the strip.
John Coyle's first memories are of identifying makes and models while driving with his dad. His favorite vehicles smell like gasoline, shoot fire, and sound like buildings falling down. Before he began his career in the automotive field, he daily drove a 1978 Jaguar XJ6 with a fully functional electrical system. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
