Default How are you 6 speed guys leaving???

I just got my suspension done and I need some advice about how to get my pig off the line. I have a complete chromoly tubular setup up front, k-member and all. Qa1's all the way around with drag springs up front. I am running Hoosier QTP's 27x11.5x15's out back and skinnies up front. Should I leave on the limiter or should I try lower RPM's? I want a killer 60' and I would like to get a high 10 on motor, I would think that would be possible with a 3400 race weight and 450 at the wheels? Any suggestions on how to leave and what I should set my shocks at? TIA!!!!

Last year I tried to leave the line at 6500 rpm , my rev limiter is set at 7000. If the track wasn't quite right, it would spin just a little and turn a 1.60 60 ft. If it hooked, it was around a 1.52 60. My moser 12 bolts gear only lasted about four trips to the strip, before it started making the most horrible roaring sound ever. I replaced the gear and the posi with a spool, but haven't had a cance to run it yet. The spool sucks for the street though. I would leave around 6000 or so, as long as there is traction.

Oh yeah, I set the front qa1's on the #2 setting for the track, I hear some people run them on the first setting or "full loose". I'm running comp engineering shocks on the rear.

with 450 at the wheels 10 will not be a problem if you can get it to hook
i leave a 6200 on slicks with front hals on 3 and rears on 4. 2 in the front is too bouncy when the tires set back down. my drag bar has no preload one way or the other in the rear and leaves straight as a arrow and perfectly level now. best 60 was a 1.431

I'm with SMOKIN...

I was same range, same setup on the HALS all the way around, and funny thing, same setup on the Wolfe rear bar. straight as an arrow to 1.4's. Going to a TH400/TH350 setup this year cause I can't drive/shift

when i went 11.0..**** i can't for the life of me rememer my shock settings right now but i was dumping the clutch at 7,000-7,200 rpm. that was normal. i think i'm gonna try less rpm first time out next year. 1.51's were norm for 60 foot.

I went 10.91@128 with a 1.61 60'

the track prep left a little to be desired, a few more times and there should be some good rubber down.

I have yet to go as quick as you but I have pulled a 1.56 60ft with stock shocks and springs on a 26" tire.

SMOKIN01TA,

Did you run that 10.43 on the spray?? Only 442rwhp! Holy ****! I seriously need some head work.

I'm not sure what I'm running right now, but I'm pushing ~390rwhp.

what have you dropped from your car to get down to 3000lbs?
