11.95 114mph Bone stock 2000 LS1
I finally broke into the 11s with my bone stock not even a LS6 intake LS1 motor in my 2000 Camaro SS at 3300#s with all suspension bolt ons cept rear shocks and springs. Running a 6 speed no less. Lotsa people were amazed at how the car looks and sounds so tame but leaves like a shark, (1.67 60ft) No way to post slips. Any one help me?

Dave knows how to haul the mail with very little. Iv'e worked hard all summer and spent a load of money on susp and weight saving parts to run that fast without any motor mods just lid filter and LTs with a bullit. I ran 11.95 at 114.78 and next run 11.999 at 114.83 N/A. Remember I had a friend who had been there and done that coaching me every step of the way, Thanks Dave...Also Matt Harlan at Harlan Engineering (Y2KHAWK) who went 8.50 something at M9...yup you had to be there too!!! Very exciting racing.
so you have a lid, LT's, exhaust, and lots of suspension work on your "BONE STOCK" ls1
ahh
nice times though

What tires did you run and what kind of suspension mods?

I was out there in mine wanting 10.40's but a bad 02 sensor due to bad #6 & #8 exhaust valve stem seals took it out...was bogging off the hit of the throttle to "poor" 1.54 60's...normally 1.39-1.42...oh, well, it ran a "poor" 10.60 at 128.
Tom's got a lot left to do and still be streetable as he's on DOT's through the exhaust: I told him to go lighter brakes on the front, a good underdrive, change to an LS6 intake, raise the rev limiter up, swap in some race seats for those power leather ones, etc.
Take care. Dave
PS: Tom, I emailed you a couple of resized pics that you can host and attach here...my hosting site is down tonight.

Great job, it is very doable, I have a friend with the following mods on his 2000 SS and he's been a best of 12.13 @111
LS1 intake
Hooker coated LTs
true duals w/ X-pipe & spintech mufflers
TSP lid
Ported TB
Descreened MAF
12 bolt w/ 4:30's
26" MT ET streets on 16" trans am wheels
Weight reductions:
No back seats
No A/C
Stock suspension
Stock torque arm
Stock LCA's
This car went a 12.89 when he bought it on radials bone stock, not even exhaust, it's just a factory freak.

O.K., I resind my BS comment. I was originally under the impression that this was a "stock" car with suspension done. Now that I see what you really have going on, I understand. Damn good job. If you don't mind me asking, what are you running, exactly? M6 or auto, gears, clutch/stall, what suspension mods, what's the weight of the car with you in it, etc. etc. I'm hoping to get my car into the low 12's with the power in my sig, you may have some stuff done that I should look into doing. I'll never have a real light car, as I wanna keepteh comfort items in, but the suspension, shocks, and whatnot may be useful.....

I was looking at the BMR k member and a-arms, that along with a lightweight battery setup like the one that Gomer did would probably save about 100 lbs out of the front of tha car, not too bad. Last time I went to the track, my car was 3630, but that's with my 265lb *** in the car.... probably not helping any. Now, the car has slp frame connectors, and once hte 12 bolt goes in, that's probbaly gonna add another 100 lbs to it. Even if I do the lightweight front suspension stuff, it's still gonna be pig heavy, because I refuse to gut it. I guess I'll have to throw an extra 250 RWHP at it to get it to where you're at. Oh well. Thanks for the info though.

Yes, I definitley believe it!
The 2 keys to Torkman15's success is his 60' (due to his 12 bolt and suspension mods and ET streets or what ever he used) and his race weight.
I did a 12.44 @ 112.83
with almost the same mods, !FRA, Long Tubes, True duals, Lid, pro 5.0 shifter, and an ls1 edit tune. and very minor weight reduction (3580 with me in it). this was under ideal weather conditions to.. now i ran my 12.44 with a 1.86 60' (on nittos) on a 100% stock suspension minus hte front sway bar.
now if i were to of matched his 60' of 1.67 I would of of ran about a 12.06. now add in the weight of his car (3285) compared to my 3580 and its easy to see how he ran an 11.95

When I mentioned my friend and (seeing eye dog) Dave Whitten pg82 April 04 Hot Rod mag I forgot to mention that Ronnie Duke pg85 same Hot Rod mag has helped me alot with parts (Hardcore Racing) and Ronnies tuner Dave Henninger put a super tune on the car when all I had was headers and lid (also Hardcore Racings Dynojet chassie dyno)... Thanks to both Daves and Ronnie for all your time and patience , Tom
