for sure you'll have to cut an awesome 60' to get there with a stock ls1/full weight car. with stock suspension you'll for sure have to remove the front sway bar (easy).

you say you ran 12.4 @ 114... you definately have a lot of room to improve the 60' ... when my old car was a full weight 6spd car, i went 12.5 at 112 w/ a 1.8x that was on stock wheels/ and stock sized nittos, with the front sway bar still on the car. had i gotten some m.t. d.r.'s and removed the sway bar i could have gotten down to a 1.7x and a 12.30-.35 that was w/ a full option'd car, and a stock '99 ls1 intake on a stock tune. so figure your car is a good 100lbs lighter than mine, and you have an ls6 intake, and a stock tune still........ i'd think you'll for sure get really close with slicks and a tune. if you are able to run a 1.6 60' i don't think it'll be a problem at all... but i don't think a stock suspended, full weight 6spd car w/ a stock ls1 will be able to cut those kind's of 60's. a lot of SI 6spd cars are running 1.6x's, but they have lots of weight reduction and some suspension. so good luck!

Am I missing something? Are you guys spraying? I ran a 13.220 @105 on friday w/ the mods in my sig. Am I doing that horrible that i'm a full second or more slower then where I should be??? I thought a 13 flat would be good for my mods.

I haven't got it tuned for the headers yet and I was cutting 1.8 60's all night on the ET Streets.

yeah your times are off a little but you might be full weight, plus a 1.80 60ft isn't nowhere near a 1.5's 60ft so a lot is left on the table...get that car tuned

Either your car is slow, you can't drive, tune is way off or the track elevation/altitude is playing a major role here. With all this factors square away it should be running mid to low 12's at 11X mph.

To what purpose is the removal of the front sway bar - weight savings only, or is there something in addition?

Almost there. Just need either a better tire or get it to goa damn 1.74 with the new Clutch/Flywheel combo which is getting frustrating.

With 114mph that's plenty of mph for 11's with a good 60ft of course (sub 1.7). Now your 10 bolt on the other hand.......... -Mark

Ah, cool! No clue how that works off the top of my head, but congrats to the suspension guru that first figured it out! I would guess off hand that without the bar, the front end is more free to lift, transferring weight towards the rear?

Thanks!

Im going to try for this next season, times in sig. Full weight m6 01 ss. I don't have gears or a 12 bolt yet. I want to do a 12 bolt with 4.10s, slicks/skinnys, and full suspension with those mods I should crack 11's stock internals

With you mods you should definatley be in the 12's and your MPH looks low.

Just take more weight out of your car. Like brandon said, you already have mild weight reduction, so you cant claim full weight. Look up what LS1LT1 ran, he has a stripper like yours, and got into the 11s. His car is auto though.... Mine also ran into the 11s, but was weighing about 3425 with driver (im M6).

I recently ran 11.898@116.73 w/ 1.67 60'. Car was 3530 w/ driver. No jack, spare, w/ skinnies/ ET radials. forgot to remove front sway bar.

If you have a choice get at least 4.56's. My car bogged w/ a 5k launch w/ 4.10.

I'm going to lighten it up a little mored and try to do better...

Good luck

114 is enough ET MPH to hit an 11. Just need a 1.55-1.65 60'.

I don't give a good **** what your 60' time is - a stock LS1 can't turn 116 MPR in 1320. This whole thread is bullshit !!!

Your so called stock LS1 is totally out of it's power band at 6100 RPM. So how do you expect this stock LS1 to pull the necessary revs through the traps using a 4.56 gear?? What a bunch of bullshit this is. I trap at 6400 revs with a 3.42 gear - rev limiter set at 6800 motor.

Really? Ever seen the SI LS1 list? Lots of guys are over 116mph. Stock internals. Its all about power to weight. 4.56's and a 28" tall tire will be turning around 111 mph. Now 4.30's and a 28" tire will be turning 118mph at 6100rpms. That's a little more doable. But they can trap 116 with bolt-ons.

It's a damn shame this knucklehead from Michigan wasn't at Cecil 2 weeks ago, he could have watched me go 116.7, twice, and another guy go 118 in a Z28. Both stock internals. Rev limiter is set at 6400.

The only thing in my engine that didn't come from the factory are the new spark plugs and Mobil 1 5w-40.

If I had an unlimited budget, I'd go w/ 5.13's in a dana 60 and shift into 5th at the 1000'.
