I just want to get some opinions. I am looking at getting rid of my 92 mustang because it is not to streetable & get a 2000-2002 camaro or trans-am as a second car. I want the car to run in the high 11's & still be street friendly and I do not want to spray. I know one of the first things I will have to do is get rid of the dinky 10 bolt. What mods should I plan on doing.

 

I guess with 33 views and no responses, no one has an opinion .


I guess will just have to start with an ati procharger, new injectors, & exhaust & go from there.

 

A small cam w/ gears/full bolt ons/tune would net you high 11s.

I wasn't sure if I could get one in the 11's without a power adder. I have a friend that has a 98 ls1 camaro with the basic bolt-ons & free mods that dynoed at around 315 to the wheels & runs high 12's & that is what I was using as a guide.

 

all boltons, a decent cam and traction (rear end willing) should net you 11's on any day of the week..

 

eh, just spray it.

SSmoken, My preference is alway being BLOWN over JUICED any day .

 

Spraying into the 11's is an easy way to keep it streetable, like you said you wanted. But a well matched cam for stock heads and full bolt-ons will do it too.

I got a real street friendly set up with stock gears and stock rear running 11s....super mild cam and only ls6 ported heads. I cruise on the hi way at just over 2 grand and see no loos in fuel mileage....the tune makes all the diff!. Pm me if you want to hear more about this set up. I cant believe how lucky I got...its so nice for the street and yet still flys at the track!

well it depends on the trans u want. if u go with a six speed for a better streetable car u could do just a dana s60 rearend,full bolt ons,full front and rear suspension and a set a m/t et's and see high 11's all day. with a tune of course.

 

Im goin with a 3600 stall, full exaust, 3,73's and a pretty big cam. WIth a good tune im hoping to see that magical 11.9 on the board as well

 

What is the DA in your area? A decent DA coupled with a bolt-on LS1 + gears and a mild cam should get you to your goal (assuming you obtain traction).
