LG Motorsports Allngn_c5 is ready to join
I will be going to Milan here pretty soon. The weather forecast is perfect. Low of 40 and High of 61. Temps should be in the upper 40's for my first run. I had no traction last time and ok conditions. Now I have plenty of traction courtesy of the Nitto DR's and also added the Hurst short throw shifter. Last visit was my first time out on street tires and I managed a best run of 12.3 @ 121.6 mph and a crappy 60 ft of 2.33 I am hoping that with traction, improved air, and the quality shifts with the HURST that I will not only hit 11's but get deep into the 11's. I got the power, but my gearing isn't race track optimal (3.42), so I am going to make the best of it. At any rate wish me luck, and if you have any suggestions feel free to post up.
Should have in car video of my runs to post. Will be up sometime next week.

Anyone else with cool weather driving experience ?? I know my car "feels" a lot stronger in the cool dense air of the morning VS the thinner warm/hot air of the afternoons. I really need a good showing here to silence the naysayers. At any rate thanks to the couple of people that posted.
Sorry I haven't had too much video of my car in action this year. Hopefully my track video is good and willl make up for the shortage of racing footage.

If the track is cold. Your going to have a hard time hooking. Try to make passes when the sun is shinning on the track for awhile. It'll heat up the track surface, and even see if they'll let you make a pass after the slick tires car make a pass. They usually lay down good rubber. Also make sure you line up in the grooves. Where the rubber has been layed down.

Traction is always an issue. If they have VHT down and it is to humid and air cool, hot lap the car and try different rpm's to leave on. As long as you can keep cool air coming through the intake, you should be good. As the air cools and mositure creeps in, bye bye traction.
Do not spin the tires if you can help it once your are moving. Banging gears in 2nd and big tire spin kills ET's.
Good luck with the Nittos. I had a set years ago but never got familiar with them.

I am going to focus on throttle control a lot more this time. With all the back to back runs I should be able to get I hope to learn something this time. Practicing on the street is nothing like the track. I am not going to worry about R/T just my 60 times and then my et and finally the trap. Want to cut a good 60, and 11.xxx et. Should be able to trap higher then last time as long as I don't kiss the rev limiter twice per run. LOL. Thanks again for the cold weather track tips. Should be enough sun to heat the track up a lot more then the air temperature. Going to hope for the best. Stay tuned for pics and or vids next week.

Dave was you 11.67 on the bottle ?? Can't be....
Anyways your car seems to be running perfectly now. What tires did you use to run that 11.67 ?? RPM launch, 60 time, and trap ?? Tire PSI, did you do a burnout or not ?

Doug, I think you posted this in the wrong section. with 490 on tap, I think you wanted to post this in the the "10 seconds" section.

Well they hook great on the street, so I'd like to think they will hook at the track. I hear ya on the M/T's. I had originally ordered them but kept getting the run around about being on permanent back order. I need an 18 in tire and M/T came out with a new one, but are out of stock. So I settled for the Nitto 555r Drag Extreme 305 35r18.

Thank you very much for the vote of confidence. Maybe but I doubt even with a professional driver will my car "as is" ever see 10's in the 1/4. It would be awesome though wouldn't it. Just let me get into the 11's first.

All these questions!
This was a n/a run
60 was 1.87 and mph was 121.8
I launched at 3800 with tire psi at 22 hot. Still using the nitto extreme autocross radials. 305/35/18s and i did do a burnout.

Thanks Dave, I will try to duplicate your launch. Should be a good way to get my car out of the hole without spinning too much. I just hope its enough to keep from bogging down. Thanks and stay tuned for results to be posted after Saturday.

You should break into the 11's with those tires. I've seen many people cut 1.6's with them. You will get plenty of practice on saturday. Its a nice private track rental.
If you don't get 11's, I'm kicking your ***!!!

With thr toque that you put down.... you shouldnt have a problem with a deep 11 sec timeslip. From my experience with Nittos, you need to do a pretty good burnout for them to heat up. Usually my first two passes they dont even heat up.... On my third pass is when they start gripping really good. Even with 3.42s, you should still knock off some good times....

Almo/st forgot, air temp, humidity all play a part in car performance. Cooler air is a definite plus for performance.
There are website you can visit that convert temp and barometric pressures at time of your runs. If I remember, these sites will let you can see what differences are in performance with changes in bar pressue and temps.
