Default 12.58 bouncing rev HARD!!!

WELL went to CRApital raceway tonight. with the stall in FINNALY got to go. i have never broken 12's at thsi track yet. but i ran a 12.77 2 years at MIR NO STALL.

i do not know why my car is bouncy the REV so hard, it jsut started doin it when the stall was installed.

i had a 1.6 60'foot and trapped at 105. when i ran the 12.77 at MIR a while back i trapped at 111 mph. why is there this loss in speed? a lil past the 1000 foot when shifting into 3rd, well it didnt, i had to get ALL the way out of it so it would shift what do i do????? and are these numbers decent for the mods i have done ( in sig) AND what is the deal with the 6 MPH loss?

Nice run. Little by little. You can also change your title by going to the sticky at top of this Section and follow the instruction.

Congrats

David

That's about a typical time.. not sure how you don't see that happening? It's called a decent running LS car with stall and radials.

OP- Loss of mph could be a few things. Bouncing the limiter for sure. Also if you were spinning last time and dead hooking this time, that will drop your mph also. 6 is a pretty big drop though, but a combination of things can lead up to it. Was that your only run of the night?

And.. this may sound stupid.. but did you lift or hit the brakes before you crossed the line? I've seen it before, and that will kill your MPH.

nooo i didnt hit the brakes. but i let out of it twice trying to get the thing to shift into 3rd. i dead hooked both times. the most recent time was with the stall and the bouncing the rev. and thats the 12.5 time at 105 with a 1.6 60'ft

with the shift points all fixed should i get a lil faster in the quarter?

you need to mess with your tune, adjust shift points, firmness, line pressure ect.

yeah iam gonna be gettin the tuning issue taken care of this week sometime. and to top it off, a buddy of mine that has a terminator cobra asked me what i ran the other night. i told him 12.5.... he asked the MPH and i told him 105 and he told me i was full of ****. i told him i let out 2 times still didnt beleive me.

i guess hes upset because he could only get his super charged cobra to a 12.3

boo for him some mustang owners will never get it.....

The loss in MPH could be shift points, what gear are you running? A loose converter will cause the engine to pull more rpm's you caould have to steep a gear. Some converters make you lose top end mph, when I first installed mine it pulled like hell off the line, shifted into 2nd and it felt like the engine went to sleep the rest of the way down the track. A good tune will fix that. Mine pulls hard all the way down the track.

You need to get the shift points and shift speed changed in the tune. And the Lack of MPH is caused by the inefficiency of the stall at high rpms and the fact that you were hitting the limiter. Had the car have shifted it would have been pulling more. It's kinds like you let out of it.

Plus getting down the track quicker without adding any power means that you have less time to build speed. That's the reason why cars that spin a little will MPH higher than if they didn't spin, but ET will suffer.

With the tune right you should easily be goin 12.2-12.3 @ 108-109

.
