Default 12.56 @ 109 - Stock stall and manifolds on radials.

My previous best was a 12.744 @ 108.59. In 59 degree weather and around 400' DA. I borrowed a set of Draglites from IH8FORD, along with cutting some more weight. It ended up being hot as ****, so I didn't run what I wanted but good considering the heat. It was over 70 degrees for most of the day. I made a 12.69 and two 12.62 passes. After doing that I let the car sit for almost 2 hours to cool. And ended up with a 12.5. In cooler weather with less gas, I'd like to get some low 12.40s maybe some high 12.30s.

2001 WS6 A4 w/ lid, ported TB, EWP, ram air, catback, and draglites. The scales weren't hooked up tonight, so I'll estimate the raceweight at 3464 (based on the previous race weight of 3605 +/- the stuff I added and removed).

The skinnies saved about 25 lbs (I'm guessing) per wheel. On the rears, IH8FORD didn't have any tires on his wheels, so I bought some cheap ($169 for 2) sigma tires. They are 295/50/15s on 15x10s. They weight around 5 lbs less per wheel. If anyone is looking for a decent hooking cheap tire the sigma's worked pretty good.

I got some video of the two 12.62 passes, but my camera crew left before I ran the 12.56. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gif2RYctKmM

I would say the drag lites were almost worth the trouble it was to put them on.

I just hit a curb going to walmart and I tore up one of the skinnies. So I'm gonna need to borrow your Bogarts now.

I'd rather burn your car down than give up my Bogarts. Besides those are big boy tires on those rims wont fit on your car.

Just the fronts. The rears would stick out more than this crap I have on here now. Assuming I could fit the tires.

Every time I come look in the 12 second club threads your running a new PB. I'm impressed with how well your car runs for the minimal mods. I wish my car ran those times, but I only got one run in since the Lt's were installed(time in sig), so I think I have room for improvement.

Wait til next week. If the weather stays as predicted or better, I will have a new thread.

Out of 8 trips to the track in this car, only one didn't get me a new best. But was at the local 1/8 mile track and it was hot, so I didn't care about that one.

What did you run before the headers?

I ran 13.7 @ 102 2.2 60' with lid/ls6 intake and on nitto street tires. The DA was 2500 and I left the tires at 35psi. When I ran the 12.99@108 I let the pressure down to 20psi and cut a 2.0 60'. I think that alone was worth 3-4 tenths and the DA was only 400. So just those two factors I think probably dropped 4-5 tenths. So I only gained approx. 2 tenths and 2mph with full exhaust. I'm hoping I can hit a 12.5 with drag radials.

Also how close do you live to your local track considering you go so often? Mines over an hour.

Is your car tuned? That could make for a tenth or more if you're not.

Are you spinning bad enough to drop a couple of tenths in the 60'? Mine would barely spin on my 17s, and actually didn't spin at all on my 12.74 pass.

And I always promote ram air kits. Either store bought or a good homemade setup are good for around 2 tenths and 2 mph.

And ofcourse there is always the stall route, which with a tire would put you down in the 12.0 range.

I live about an hour from the 1/4 mile track and about 30 min from the 1/8 mile track. Though I've heard rumors that the 1/8 mile track is going to be a 1/4 next year which will be awesome because it is the best hooking track there ever was. I guarantee there isn't a better prepped track anywhere, especially on test and tune days.

The car has a mail order tune from steve at lsxtune. I don't spin at all, but get major wheel hop for some reason. Springs and shocks are shot so replacing them w/ some qa1's should help. I do need a ram air kit though, I probably just buy a FTRA since I don't think I have the ability to make a custom one like chrs1313's.
