Default 12.22@115 bolt-on M6 on street tires

My very first pass of the day got me that time. My next 4 passes ended in blown 4th gear shifts. Damn syncros. On 2 of those passes, my 60' and 330' intervals were .03 and .04 respectively better than the 12.22 pass. I would've ended up with a 12.18 or even lower. My 60' ranged from 1.90 to 1.87 all day on the street tires. My raceweight was 3670.

Nice passes Dave. Are you going back this Sunday to try again for teens?

Nice car Dave. I had two other runs on tape but they were missed shifts so I didn't add those to the vid. I deleted my 3 runs that were spinning too!

what was the temp yesterday in your location and how long do you do your burnouts for? Have you ever broken a rear on street tires?

The temp was in the 40s and the da was around -1500'. I haven't broken the rear on the street tires but broke 3 on DRs. My 60' times are better on the street tires and I find it easier to launch with them.

I guess between 5-7 seconds.

I launch anywhere from 2k -2500 rpms. I ride the clutch out a bit to try to get the car going without shocking the rear.

how long do your clutches usually last you and what kind of clutch do you use?

Any suspension mods?

My clutch is the Mcleod dual friction. I've had it for around 3 years with multiple passes on it. I don't really drive the car that much so I can't really say it has alot of miles on the clutch. The car has 143k miles though. I think what impresses me so much is how well the car is running with that many miles on the clock. I think I may have put 25k miles on it in the 5 years I've owned it.

Well there's a big difference in your racing tecnique and mine. my best 60' is 2.04 and I feel like there is a lot of improvement to be had by me. I never warm my tires up as good as you told me. When its done it has to be done right or it won't work right. btw, any suspension?

I have a gtech pro and my best 0-60 is 4.51 so I can improve that by a lot more if I heat'em up enough.

I've replaced the lower control arms to try to eliminate wheel hop. That is the only thing I've changed on the suspension. I still have both the front and rear sway bars.

Track prep is just as important as good tires. Maryland International Raceway is probably one of the best prepped tracks around...especially when it's cold outside.

Nah, not really. I just know how to launch on these tires. After that, I suck. I usually miss gears on 60% of my passes. Usually, they're the passes I have my best 60' times.
