The first time I took my car to the track back in march of 05, it went 12.9s @ high 108s with only an SLP lid and 25k on the clock. It had 100% street tires. Yokahama ES100s to be exact.

I ran 12.90 @ 111.5 with the mods in my sig. It was on BFG KDWS tires that are at the wear bars- have nearly 100 passes on them. Mods in sig that matter: LTs, duals, lid, LS6 manifold, ported TB, ftra. Its definitely possibly with any car by just slapping on some drag radials. But, if you want to go the street tire route you just need a lot of seat time and you will get there.

I noticed you have the FTRA listed there. How do you like it? Did you notice a good seat of the pants feel from installing this mod? One other thing I'd like to know, and this is only because im so **** about my cars is-what does it take to install this in terms of ripping or cutting into your cars factory items/pieces? I dont wanna alter my car in such a way that it cannot be placed back to stock if need be.

Is this a mod that requieres you to really tinker around with the cars existing pieces?

I wouldn't say SOTP feeling from it, but I can tell you that it gained me atleast 1mph in the 1/4 mile - so its worth getting. I bought mine used on here for $75 - I would try to do the same.

To install it you need to do some cutting up of a plastic radiator shroud. Its hidden once you put the airbox assembly back on. If you are worried about returning the car to stock just buy another plastic shroud for a backup. I am sure they can be found cheap.

Are you reffering to the thin flat piece that goes infront of the rad? Is it also true that you need to drill into the upper rad support? I heard that you need to cut a piece of the lower airbox support too.

The piece is on top of the radiator with a thin maybe 1/3" opening where the air comes through. You enlarge that opening to fit the ftra in. Yes, you also have to drill. Cutting the under where your airfilter sits is optional, but it would be kinda dumb not to cut it out.

So if you are **** about not cutting stuff up FTRA may not be for you. What reason though could you have to need to go back to stock? A couple holes and some missing plastic in your intake isn't going to hurt your resale much.

I understand what your saying about resale, and its not about that. Its more like a piece of mind, thats all. I dont mind doing the mod, just as long as the gain is worth it. The plastic piece on top of the rad I can probably get from another car, so thats not a problem.

the way I have mine, no one knows I have it unless I tell them. Seemed like I had a seat-of-the-pants feel when I got mine. only at wot at highway speeds though. Seemed like I could hear the air sucking in more.
