Default First RWD pass in 20 years 12.1 stock internals full weight !

A couple of videos of the runs in the timeslips

If your in the eastern section disregard as you have likely already seen my post there but basically got out of cars about 20 years ago then crept my way back into cars when I bought a daily commuter when I commuted 2 states from home daily and found out it took well to mods (fwd regal gs 3800 supercharged) got into the low 13's then bought several other 3800 cars over the years culminating in a 12.2@ 118 gtp 4 door which I last ran in the spring of 2011, now 3 years and 3 f bodies later I finally got one of my f bodies to the track. I have hundreds of passes in fwd w bodies.

First pass I heard the rpm's come right up leaving the tree and backed out of it just as I realized it was hooking hard , long time since I raced a stalled auto lol got back in it 12.5 @ 109... Ooh I was onto something !

As it got dark and the dew settled started running into wheelspin and slower 60 foots and of course slower et's . When the track shut down for break I borrowed a sawzall and cut the front sway bar end links ( too rusty for the tools I brought) dropped the MT's to 13 psi and put my 60 ish pound tool box in the trunk , all this worked well got back into the 1.7 60foots which isn't great I know but anyone that knows how bad this track gets on a cool fall night knows it is better than most so I was back in business ....ended up running a best of 12.1@112 and backing it up with a 12.2@110

Car did pretty well but didn't feel like it pulled real smooth up top so between some fresh tune up stuff and some more seat time for me it seems like I will have another full weight stock internals car in my stable (I watched the previous owner of my 6 speed car go 11.95 full weight stock internals a few months before I bought it.

From poking around on drag times da was somewhere around -1100 which is why I was even there Wednesday I usually only hit the track when it's going to be decent air like that.

Ok so what does the car have for mods is what your wondering , well it's one of 3 bolt on ls1 z's I have purchased on here for 3 grand and change , this particular one $3200 2 years ago and has been collecting dust since other than my buddy running it on his dealer plate a bit this summer but I never drove it , the first time I drove it over 5 mph was about 10 feet out from the tree Wednesday night lol car has...

173,000 miles on stock internals ls1 with slp lid , some type of sheet metal box feeding said lid , smooth bellows, BBk 80 mm tb , ls6 intake , ac deleted , kooks long tubes , manga flow ory and cat back , vigilante 3600 stall , howling whining 373 rear end and subframe connectors , full weight plus tool box lol it was fun

No bad at all!

I'm sure with a little bit better track conditions and seat time, 11's are there.

I'm sure hoping for the same time as I almost have similar mods but with a Yank PT4000 going in soon.

That metal box, if it goes down under the bumper, sounds like either the chrs1313 ram air, or a similar one. They usually do great at the track.

I was assuming its that one or a similar one , looks well constructed and definately feeds the lid well.

I'd say swap the 3600 put for a 4k+ stall, or weight reduction, or suspension.

What tire are you running?

its on et streets.

I am too cheap to swap convertor lol , when the track opens back up in the spring I will get it in the 11's now that I have run the car once to know what it needs/likes as well as get some tune up parts that let it pull clean up top like it should , if that doesnt do it I'll pull the toolbox back out of the trunk and use the tools to start pulling stuff out of the car lol

-1100 is decent DA? I wish it would stay in the 3000-4000ft range were rarely lucky enough to get around here.

it gets lower here -1500 to -1800 on occasion before the track closes , I have seen posts from the guys racing down at atco which stays open into december of -2000 hence the term "mineshaft air".
