Default First 1/4 mile

Last month i ran a best of 12.9 @ 107 in my 99 SS at the California Speedway.

First run was a 13.6.(on street tires 295/40/18), second was 12.9, third was a 13.0

Car has 171k on original motor and a remanufactured t56 with the following mods :

C5 ZO6 wheels on Pirelli slicks 285/45/18
BBK axle back Muffler
SLP Sub frame connectors
Eibach lower springs
Lid
Hooker Comp Headers (LT's)
3in Y-Pipe
4.10 Gears
Tune PCM
PP Typhoon 85mm Intake Manifold
PP Power 80mm Throttle Bodie
GM LS6 Springs
Howard's GM ASA Cam
HRI Ported LS6 Oil Pump
ASP 25% Underdrive Pulley

How much lower can i get with this set up? Currently putting together a ford 9 inch. Should be done by early next year.

Do you have a picture of the timeslip?

There should be a LOT left in the car or there is something wrong. That's what a stock F-Body should be running with a drag radial.

Yes ill post it up when i get home.

Car feels great i only a huge power loss when my maf went bad.
I launched the car at 2300 rpm and once at 1800.
Didn't power shift or slip the clutch. I feel my launch is hurting me alot. In two weeks ill be going again and try a higher rpm.

congrats on getting in the 12's first time out ! That being said I agree with Rob , plenty of stock internals cars have cracked 11's , cam on a car someone has already dialed in to crack 11's stock internal usually gets it mid 11's.

I am sure with more passes you will start dropping chunks off that et

Did any of your other passes provide higher traps than the 107? because that pretty much in line with high 12's on these cars

Thanks guys

Yea on the other two runs i hit 108 idk if the 1 mph is a huge difference? Also it was high 98 or 100 degrees that day. Goal is to run low 12s without squeezing. Future plans to go lq9 bigger cam+150 shot but that isn't anytime soon.

Will be posting slips today or tomorrow.

those temps explain a lot , that's terrible racing weather.

We are spoiled up here most of us when looking for good et's are shooting for below 50 and high barometric pressure lol , even low to mid 70's with high baro will get you mid 12's I bet , combine that with practice and traction and you will hit your goal

Looks similar to times I had in the summer when it was low 80's here in Rochester NY. When I went back in September I ran a 12.6 short shifting. I think with lower temps and more practice you'll be surprised how well of a time you can achieve.

wow , your 108 trap is really close to 109 and as hot as it was that shows your car makes some power. cool temps I bet you trapping 112+ . ditch the road race slicks for some bias ply slicks and go on a cool day and you should be low 12's
