Default How much is left?

Finally got my '02 Z28 to a strip. My best run was a 12.732 at 111 mph with a 60 ft time of 2.150. This was accomplished in 78 F and 54% humidity. The car has a Yank PAS3400, 3.42 gears, Nitto NT555 G2 street tires, and makes about 380 rwhp. What do you guys think I might be able to pull off with more practice and better weather?

I am looking at your tires as really being the biggest opportunity here.
You can practice and practice, and maybe get that ting down a tenth or two, but thats about it.
Your stall just can't help you much with the rubber you have.
If you want decent street/strip tires get some Nitto 555R2's, or maybe a set of MT/SS drag radials.
Then after you get them start digging around on these forums.
Learn about footbraking and flashing the stall, tire pressure, etc. and get out to the track of practice practice and more practice.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of speed!

Are you on a trans brake and what RPM are you launching at? The 60' suggests that your either spinning out of the hole or your not launching it hard enough so yeah there's more in it. A set of drag radials or move over to a 15" wheel to run 28 x 10.5 slicks and probably even benefit from a 3.73 gear set.

Yeah, I've been having fun on the street for a long time but this was my first track outing. Already feeling the need to improve. I went with street rubber because this is my daily driver. If I can turn my new degree into some money I'll buy another car and possibly put drag radials on the Z.

No trans brake. I launched at around 2000 rpm. Being my first time on a strip I didn't know how much throttle the tires could handle. Still not sure on that, but probably more than I gave them. Being a street car I'm used to it breaking loose easily.

He is basing it of of your 60' time.
For every tenth you cant cut from your 60', you will knock off .15-.2 tenths off of your 1/4 mile et.
