Why don't you stick atleast drag radial on and be done with it? I am sure with my set up I'd go 12's with a street tire for my mods. I haven't been on a street tire since my factory Eagles came off for a drag radial and that was 3 yrs ago.

Well, first of all, I wanted to increase my skill as a driver. Running mid 12s on a street tire is no small feat with less than 400 hp. I wanted to break into the 12s on street tires, then I wanted to see how deep I could get. Mostly so when other cars are on street tires, I can spank that ***. Nice trap speed for a 212/218 by the way .

I hear ya on wanting to see just how low. As for traction, Nitto's are all that I run on the back of my car.
It's got some nice MPH for such a small cam. It's actually trapped 116-117 before ET'd 11.91-11.92 in Feb this year with my Boyfriend driving it. I am getting there, slowly but surely.

At this point, I think until I get a rear I am SOL. Maybe I could drop down to 12.2s . I ran the 12.4 on a busted *** transmission. Right now I could probably throw Procharger or a 100 shot on and still run 12.3s at like 120mph .

I ran a 12.65 @ 111.9x on Goodyear Eagle GS-C's at 30+ psi and a short burnout. I also ran a 12.66 @ 111.5x on a different day at a different track. The 12.65 was a 1.90 60 ft and the 12.66 was a 1.93 60 ft. I'd like to claim it was all driver skill but the car has a stock clutch that slipped just the right amount to keep it from bogging on the stock 3.42 gears. Had the weather been better on the day I made the 12.65 pass I would have been 12.5x easy. It was a 70 deg. day with 95+ % humidity at Norwalk, OH (~800 ft?). Not sure what DA that works out to.

I ran 12.62 at 109 on 245/50/16 nitto 450's.... Its fairly easy to launch and not spin to bad with an A4.... I footbraked it to right at 1400 then eased my way into the throttle, still spun some but much better than on gas/off gas/on gas...

I ran a 12.85 @ 114.31 w/2.331 60' on Goodyear GS-D3s with 45psi in them. My car was in full street trim on this run at Commerce.
Track prep is the key to getting any grip on street tires. I couldn't run better than a 13.1 in the right lane but ran a 12.8, 12.9 and 13.0 in the left lane.

12.74@112.3 here, on goodyear F-1s, Ditto about the clutch slipping just enough to get traction also. I think when the new one goes in I will have to start all over. Tires were at 19 psi
