Default blew up 10bolt but went 12.56 116mph

Yeah I wasn't very impressed with my 60ft's but it was my first time at the track. Shouldn't I have a lower time trapping 116? Here's my breakdown(best).

r/t .488
60 2.091
1/8 8.24@91.37
1/4 12.56@116.13

I was at HRP and the weather was perfect. I ran about 5 times and all were within 2 tenths from 114-116mph. I was getting fed up with my 60's so I decided to do a burnout on my nittos, bad idea. Launched from about 3k dumping the clutch and bang, snapped my rear. It was embarassing, I had to reverse it off the track then it locked up in one of the lanes. We had to us a floor jack and push it to the side. Needless to say, towing it 75 miles home was not cheap, I could have used that 200.00 on a new 9". Even though I had a rough time, I still left with a smile on my face. That was fun. Can someone please update my sig.

nice runs, your trap speed is definitely good for a lower 12 number, but your ET is very closely related with your 60'. To really get a good time you need to shave that 60' down. But it's kinda hard to do that on an M6 with a stock rear because.... well, you found out the hard way I guess. Just get a stronger rear with 3.73s maybe?? and I guarantee it'll be good for a couple tenths if not more.

Not sure yet, I haven't taken it apart. I don't have much time off this week so I might not get to it until this weekend. All I know is it didn't sound good and it stopped rolling.

Anything else on the car besides the Nittos? I've got a low mileage 98 I'm taking out in the spring to race my roommates 06 350Z because he always thinks he's better All I have right now is the catback Flowmaster and a B&M Ripper... If I get a sedan as my daily driver, I'll stash this one aside and throw on a Z06 induction/cam etc or LG Motorsports cam, ASP pulley?, maybe headers... Hooker?, anyway, I want to baby this car so the max I'll drop the clutch at will be about 2500. Any thoughts?

yeah, it has a ls6 intake, LT headers, and a 224 cam. You'll be fine if you spin a little and then hook up. If you dead hook with sticky tires your rear will eventually break with a 6 speed. Learn how to feather the clutch on the street, youll have much more control with different road surfaces. Quick question, how do I get in the 12 second club? I'd much rather have that than "on the tree". I can scan my timeslips if needed, there were some moderators at the track that night to vouch in the texas section.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be constantly honing my holeshot skills (on private property ofcourse and I think if i take it easy on the launch I'll be able to keep my rearend for a while, (maybe keep it topped off with Red Line/Royal Purple gear lube? We'll see.
