Ok i had a pretty much stock 00 SS it now has a lid, Lt's, slp underdrive pully, dynomax cat back, baby cam(221/221 559. 559. 114 lsa), MT DR's, and 3.55 gear, i took my car to my tuner (bluecat) and we only got 298 rwhp. he told me my converter was not locking and was useless (tci 2700 stall). so i said screw it and took it to the track anyways. the car went 12.564 @ 105.366 1.772 60' and 7.978 1/8. so i ordered a vig 3200 stall and put a cutout in. but i was happy as hell to see those #'s in a 298 hp camaro. i'll keep you guys updated on the track #'s when i go back with a good converter. just though i would share the story.
UMM my car with full bolt ons right now should be around 320 at the wheels and my car runs the 1/4 mile just as quick as yours with a slightly higher trap speed. You have some major probs going on to be only pulling 298rwhp even if its a mustang dyno. I know your cam is on the small side but with just the bolt ons you have it should be alot higher then that

I agree dyno numbers dont mean **** but come on dude you dynoed what alot of BONE STOCK cars dyno and your mph matchs alot of BONE STOCK cars you have a good et because of the converter
The 300 rwhp stock cars were usually 02's, and I don't believe any of them were autos...especially with 3.55 gears. If he started with 275 hp and his converter is not working on the dyno, these numbers are possible. Especially considering some dynos always run on the low side. There's just as many freakishly low hp fbodies as there are high ones. It's the luck of the draw.

Yes but you still cut a really good 60ft for the converter being shot and even if the converter is shot it still seems like your way down on Hp. IF the converter was real bad I dont think you would be pulling 1.7 60fts

this thread is hilarious... you said that the converter is bad because it is not locking? am I correct?
well in a 1/4 mile pass the converter wont lock anyways... so the converter problem doesn't matter in your quarter mile times... sorry to say, the car is just slow
Now on the dyno with the converter locked you would pick up around 25-30 rwhp which would make the dyno numbers still crappy, but once again in a quarter mile pass the converter doesnt lock so it was not a problem

my A4 02 ss made 302 rwhp bone stock, i think cars with a higher stall torque converter dyno lower than if they had the stock converter. That might explain why his car is only makin 298 but running a decent time.

im not positive but i was always told youll see MORE power on the dyno with an aftermarket stall than you would with a stock one so idk about that one. im not positive just going off of what i have heard on here.
Thats not even a "decent time". Becuz, he had a 1.7 60'. If that was a 2.2 60' and a 12.50 at 117mph. then that would be good for the mods becuz he would only be a set of slicks away from 11.40's or faster.
the car is a TURD! All it takes is 290ish rwhp to trap 105. STOCK cars do that all the time. Hell even a some stock auto 98's run that.
