Default launching an m6

Mods are listed in sig...someone said I would have a hard time launching...why would they think this? Maybe a problem on street tires but not d/rs?

Street tires would be part of the problem keeping your 10 bolt alive would be the other problem.

I have a M6 with a 12 bolt and drag radials I launch at 5k. But Im not worried about breaking anything either. If your not worried about breaking anything get some drag radials and start with 3k and go up from there.

I have only made a total of 23 runs down at three different tracks. I started just dumpin it at like 1500 and bogging a second then takin off. This gave me 2.2x 60s and a couple 2.1xs. Then I tried slipping the clutch from 3k and that got me down into a 2.05 60 foot. My mods are similar and at the time I was running shorty headers, cam and 4.10s also.

The 10 bolt felt decent but it felt a ton better when slippin the clutch from 3k. Much smoother off the line instead of wheel hoppin and spinning

Are you on street tires and stock rearend? If so i'd say you will do better slipping the clutch. My best on street tires was a couple 1.9's slipping it from about 3000 rpm. Let out the clutch too quick and nothing but wheelspin.

Definatley slip the clutch if you are on street tires. The first time I went I didn't slip the clutch and if it wouldn't wheel spin it would bog and fall on its face, though my 60 fts were 2.1 or so, it took forever to get through first gear. The second time I went I would put it anywhere between 3-4 k rpms and slip it, not to fast but just enough that the tires wouldn't spin. My 60 foot times where still only 2.0 but it cut 2 tenths off of my 1/8 mile times because by the time i was out of the clutch it was in the powerband vs. bogging down.

Yup, here's a video of me launching and powershifting my old car. I know it's not an LS1 but it's a perfect example of slipping the clutch. No tire spin, bogging or chirping, just a little slip and I'm off.

ya like mentioned above on streets or crappy drag radials dont just dump the clutch you gotta feather it. Think like taking some torque off all that power by letting the clutch slide against the flywheel.
