I thought some of you here might like this.....
As many of you know we have been working the VR38 motor program with the recent issues of the Nissan block cracking under extreme HP / Cylinder pressures . Our engineers and technicians have been hard at work and developed a new way to reinforce the block. We wanted to test this new theory and really put the car through its paces. The only way we know how to do that is to abuse it on the dyno and the track!
Last night we strapped the revised ALPHA 12 package to the dyno. The test vehicle was our own 2009 Nissan GT-R. Chris began tuning and the numbers just kept getting higher and higher. The final result was a Whopping 1318WHP at only 35 psi of boost in VERY hot Dyno room @ 105 degrees !!!
The dyno only tells so much though. We wanted to really put the package to the test so we loaded her up in the trailer and took her to the track where Ivan was instructed to put the HP to the test. Over the next 4 hours Ivan put down no less than 10 LOW 9 second passes all above the 160 mph mark. On every pass he reported traction was horrible. Still Ivan hot lapped her one pass after the other... over and over... 9.0, 9.0,9.1,9.0.. You get the idea
The ALPHA 12 was making so much power it would not get 100% traction until 5th gear!!! To make matters worse the weather was horrible... High humidity and a heat index north of 90 degrees created a hot and greasy track. Even with these condition the ALPHA 12 was able to reset the worlds fastest and quickest GT-R with a best time of 9.05@166.66MPH!
If that wasn't enough we checked the V-box time on that record pass and we improved our 60-130 time to 3.46 Seconds!!!!!!
All in all it was a great day. The ALPHA 12 was put through a 12 round prize fight and came out still swinging!
Below is the dyno chart from last nights session. Peak boost was 35 psi as it was run today. The car can run more boost but with traction being an issue we never had a chance to raise it.
I have also attached the time slip from the best pass at the track.
We are hoping to get her back to the track very soon once we can get some more favorable weather conditions. I will keep everyone posted!
Here is a stock to ALPHA 12 graph. It is important to note this was done in two separate gears. The ONLY stock 2009-2011 GT-R we had on file with the dynojet was done in 3rd gear whereas the ALPHA 12 was done in fourth. This would have a VERY minor effect on the spool of the stock car....nothing dramatic though. Its still pretty remarkable with this comparison how quick the ALPHA 12 engine setup spools up!

THANKS! We just got the video up this morning and edited our other threads. I scrolled through the media section quickly and did an actual search in media which showed no threads prior to my post.
it would not be the 1st time "search" did not help out. LOL
edit : found the initial info in racers lounge.. oh well a good repost with video can't be too bad

update
History has been made! last night the ALPHA 12 package went back to the track with more favorable weather conditions. The result was the worlds first 8 second GT-R!
Even with a 1.668 60 foot the ALPHA 12 driven by our own Ivan Phipps went 8.975@169.49 mph!!!!!!
In addition the 60-130 time was broken again with a 3.38 60-130mph!!!!!!!!!
60 foot 1.668
330ft 4.166
1/8th mile 6.042
1/8 mph 132.74
1000ft 7.634
1/4 8.975
1/4 mph 169.49
backing it up with a 9.036@169.77mph
60-130 on the backup run was 3.34

That is awesome. A few questions though.
Why does it seem to take forever to do a dyno pull in 4th gear for you? with that much power I would expect one of those .5 second pulls.
What will it take to make a 1300 GTR go faster in teh 1/4? I dont know a ton about the trannies and how well its put down but I assume there is ALOT of time left in there.
Thanks!

The dyno run isn't long IMO, but I will say gearing, tires, trans all play a roll in how the dyno run goes.
I believe in most cases we here on Tech see a larger cube stalled auto car and once it goes into boost flashes the converter and it's all over.
TRACTION is the main issue here to us getting a better 60ft with this car
+ 4000# race weight makes it tough to leave harder with better track prep and hope keep parts together with an AWD car
keep in mind this is not a drag car and rather a multi purpose street car, but is doing well during our drag testing of the package
We are doing a check up and recharging the A/C today so it ready to do some cruising soon.
video coming within a day or so
