Final Comments: Trevor, very good results . No comment indicates a normal reading. Let me know if you have any issues with GM engine “knock” especially as the copper drops. Very clean burning engine based on low OXD and NOX. Contact me for any clarification or questions.
It also proves that the 3k oil change interval is a thing of the past, this oil would easily make it to 5k, it's in great shape still.
I just put it in my 79,000 mile 5.3L truck. I used the 10W30. I usually run my oil around 5,000 miles or so since I do so much highway driving.
Good or Bad
Where can I send an oil sample to be tested?
Thanks oh Oil Guru.

John - Contact Terry Dyson for an analysis. It's $25 ($27.06 if in TX), and it's worth its weight in gold IMO. This is the true test of which oil is better. You can contact Terry at (903)883-4661 or tdyson@argontech.net.

and can you swap back and forth between a regular oil and synthetic? im runnin mobile 1 10w30, and have heard i couldnt go back (no intentions to, i might have to send some off to see how it looks....)
Patman(Oil Guru) - Any thoughts on the new Mobil 1 SuperSyn.

I've started seeing a few oil analysis results on the new stuff and it's turned out to be a very good oil after all! I think the first batches of SuperSyn didn't have it, but the recent ones have moly in it! Moly is an awesome antiwear additive.
Also, you can easily go longer then 5k on M1 if you do mostly highway.
And Brandon, you can safely switch back and forth to and from synthetic at any time without a problem.

The reason being, because since I did the head & cam in April. I have had the low oil light come on twice. I know I'm supposed to check the oil level, on a regular basis. I do, esp when I go racing. I did not check it as often on regular street driving. Still, there is no excuse for it dropping that low.
So I'm going to try this new Mobil out.
To you oil experts.. How often should I change the oil, when I am using nitrous? If it must be changed often, then would I be better off using plain dino? What is the best dino? Thanks.

After breaking in my new cam, I just put the new Mobil 1 in there, after using Royal Purple for a long time.

Is there a website that someone here has that contains info on all oils? or as they come?

Check out www.bobistheoilguy.com, as well as the message board he's got too:

I am absolutely fanatical about the "blood" in my motor, so I feel that the traditional 3k interval is cheap insurance. Just my $.02...
With oil being a non-renewable resource, I think the least I can do is actually use my oil "up" and not change it just because that is what we "used to do."
All of the tests and data point to the fact that extended oil changes do no harm. (obviously there is a limit on the just what constitutes "extended".
I change my oil once every 5K, and all my oil samples have come back fine.

and yes, i was really pleased with Castrol GTX, even it is justa regular oil.
