1) Would inspection give me any problems if i put these on my car? I live in NJ andthey can be pretty bad with nitpicking.

2) Do they fit well in the sockets? i mean do they look like they fit good?

3) How hard is it for a person to install them? I mean i was thinking of getting my mechanic to install them if i get them. Would an experienced mechanic be able to do this with ease? or would i need a exterior specialist of sorts?

4) Also, do halo lights shine brighter than stock headlights?

5) IF you buy halo lights as is, do they give off a regular white light at night or do they give off that bluish tinted light thats very vibrant and blinding to the oncoming car?

6) Lastly, should i get the halos over what i have now? Now, i have pro beam black headlight inserts and i like the way they look, but i look at these halos and they look awesome as well. Plus they are the actual light, and not a cover lense like the pro beams are.

Ill answer the ones that I know..

1)The Halos are DOT approved so they wont give you problems with inspection

2)From what I know they fit.. Tonz of people have them so I m pretty sure that they fit.

3)Im sure they are just as easy to install as the stock headlights are.. Simple..

4)The dont shine brighter.. They are a houseing not projectors or anything along those lines.

5)The light is the same.. As said before they are a houseing (Just like your stock) but they have the extra "Halo" part on them. So however your lights shine now they will be..

6)Halos are really nice looking.. So its all up to you on what look your going for with your car!

- People have different levels of luck here. The front end, hood, and fenders of our cars all have a lot of slop in them and in how they are set up. Aftermarket parts (collision repairs) make this even worse.
So although they always fit, some people have a gap at the bottom between the bottom weatherstrip on the halo light and the lip of the front bumper cover. Mine is about a half inch on the driver's side. Working with the headlight bracket adjustments and mounts can help, but people have varying luck here. If the front end of your car is stock and has never been apart, you should be in real good shape.

- There are plenty of write ups if you just search. Installing the lights themselves is easy but you'll want to take your time and listen to the walkthroughs. You can scratch up your front bumper paint/fender paint pretty easily if you rush. If you choose to take it somewhere, take it to body shop and discuss nicely the condition of the paint around the lights before you give the car over to them.

- The wiring for the halos, again there are options here. My favorite is to run new wiring to an extra foglight switch. The factory bezel has slots for 4 switches, 2 of which are holding the "Camaro" emblem above your radio. A body shop could easily tap into your DRL's or fogs.

- In my case the light pattern is a little more focused. Brightness is a function of the bulbs used, the housing only controls how the light is dispersed. They are similar to stock in this respect, just a bit more focused which some will like and some will dislike.

- The come with normal white German philips bulbs.

 

the first time i installed halos on my baby - it took me about 45 minutes, just because it was my very first mod and i wanted to be so careful about it. the ease of installation will amaze you as you realize there's only 2 bolts holding ur headlight onto the bracket (and of course u got the 2 tabs to slide to the appropriate side to "unhook" the light from the bracket).

the actual halos - i just wired them into my fogs. not much to confuse here, really. although, like todd said - some like to run their own wires to a separate switch.

just reiterating wut others have said... in other words, tryin to boost up my post count.

 

it's super simple, took me an hour cuss i was playing around lol the hardest part in my opinion is deciding how you want to route your wires, it's worth it.

 

It took me about 1 hour to get the first one in, then 20 minutes to install the second. The problem I had with mine was that I couldn't get the light to fit until I realized I needed to turn the adjuster screws to bring them closer to the mouting point. Once I did that, it was EZ. I wired them to my side marker lights. The brand I have actually has the regular beam split into two without sacrificing the amount of light. I also also use the silverstar bulbs.

I love the look - makes the car look more up to date - and, my stockers where all cloudy.

 

Is there a write up on here? I know the headlight probably come with directions but you guys seems to do good write ups. I used the LT header install and window motor write up a while back.

 

This is all you need to know. It's quite simple.

To remove the factory headlights:
1. Unbolt the 7mm screws on the backside of each headlight.
2. Slide each headlight out of the housing towards the center of the car.
3. Pull each headlight straight out (make take a little wiggling

Wiring:
1. Grab your positive and negative power source (I used the running light wires)
2. Splice your positive halo wire into your positive running light wire (brown will work)
3. Splice your negative halo wire into the black running light wire.
4. Repeat for other headlight.

Installing halo:
1. Look at the back of the halo, there are two tabs that slide into position via headlight housing on the car. The tabs fit into a larger hole and slide towards the outside of the car to lock into position.
2. Make sure you get both tabs in there. Once again it may take a little wiggling and such.
3. Bolt the 7mm bolts back in.

There are screws on the far end of the halos that you can screw/unscrew to adjust the headlight positioning.

30 minute job at most for experienced hour job for inexperienced.
