Well didn't get much done on the dyno. We made 8-9 pulls none on boost. A/F was so far out of wack it wasn't funny. By the 9th pull the car was running 13:0+-2 all motor. We pulled the charge pipe to tune it for the motor alone. Couple things we found out....
1) 4.5 degrees of timing all motor = almost 50hp
2) The water tank heats up quick needs to be changed every 2 pulls

Something in the tranny let go on the 9th pull. Talked to one of my tranny guys and he said that there is a small piece that could have broken which is common. Somethng to do with the shifter and getting the tranny into the correct gear. He said its a $2 part. I'm going to pull the tranny tomorrow get it over to Wayne and get it torn down, he said he can have it back same day.

how is your water heating up if you took the charge pipe off? I've always heard that pushing it without a charge pipe is extremely bad for the turbo as it can freewheel and overrev....

We put the transmission cooler in the water tank. The car is almost done on the motor, the VE numbers are very close. I'm going to try adding timing to see how much we can get out of it. Switching from 24 to 28, the car made 45 more RWHP.

You can do that with that " Big Money Grip" you have Looks like you'll have to do something with your garage door first. What kind of numbers did you get anyways? Or is it

We had too many issues to get any real good numbers but looking at the number trend from run 1 to run 8 we're moving in the right direction. The motor numbers were less than spectacular BUT considering we picked up ~50rwhp by adding 4 degrees of timing and everyone says we're going to end up with timing in the high 30s...we're going to be just fine. I can say we're trying to make 500-520rwhp on the motor through a glide with an unlocked converter.

The dyno did tell us....
- We were down 30+rwhp on the final pull due to IAT temps in the mid 130s vs 40s
- 24 to 28 degrees was worth big HP and we firmly believe its going to need 35-38 when its all said and done with.

Standing back and looking at the data, I'm happy where we're at.

In the water tank for the turbo IC?

When I get around to finding me a nice notch fox (Turbo BBC going in it) I am going to run a seperate water tank for the tranny and another for the turbo. This may be what you have.

Glad to see your car is making some pulls, cheap parts to fix things are nice.... I need to get a fence up in the back yard for the dogs before I have some play money...

We got the big turbo installed this morning, had to grind the frame rail and the support to get it to fit since it was tucked up alittle more. Started on the downpipe and got a couple tubes cut and almost ready to be tacked into place.

My dad dropped off the tranny today, hopefully I'll have it back wednesday to install thursday.

Tomorrow I hope to have the downpipe finished so when the tranny gets back we can hit the track.

some times what the dyno likes for timing and what the track likes for timming is a little different... i'd pull a couple degrees on the track just to be safe that when its loaded hard it doesnt detonate... there... thats my $.02.... lol

good luck and the car looks stellar!
