- 24 to 28 degrees was worth big HP and we firmly believe its going to need 35-38 when its all said and done with.

QUOTE]

35-38 degrees we've never came close to that on a lsx motor.

wayne will take care of it phil. i had a th400 in my 68 1 time that i just picked up from him. i installed it late sat night pushed the car up in the trailer and got ready to race sun. luckily when i get to the track i put the car on jackstands to warm up. backed it outta the trailer and got it jacked up. hopped in and clicked first let it run clicked 2nd tire speed picked waited a minute and pulled high and boom the whole car rocked and the tires quit turning right then. put it back in 2nd tires start turning and then high again boom locks them up again. all i can say is glad it did it there and i didnt go straight to make a pass at 6500 in the waterbox when i pulled high for the 1st time. called wayne mon morning asked him if he wanted me to pull it out he said no just bring him the whole car and if it was something he messed up he'd pull it and reinstall it. took him the car mon evening. he pulled it right in and yanked the pan and valvebody. changed whatever he found in the valvebody and put it back together. trans worked flawless from then on. wayne is top notch and stands behind his work. any problem me or my friends have had has been taken care of immediately and his trans are great.

I've talked to more than enough LSx guys and they all have verified it. You'd be surprised at the timing some guys are running.

Thats definitely good to hear. He asked me to bring the whole shooting match, shifter, linkage, tranny, converter, dipstick tube.

i hope you talked to credible sources... that just sounds high but hell if everyone did what everyone "thought was right" we'd never go faster.

good luck and keep us updated on some time slips..

I believe the timing numbers he's talking about is when the motor is not in boost...

Depends on who think is credible. They have gone 7s with the LS motor and thats good enough in my book.

Yeah those timing numbers are before boost comes in, under boost is still a big timing number. Not the usual 16-20 that everyone thinks you should run.

do what does best... who cares what people think....

right now one of my local friends is testing twin turbos on a carbed 358 SBC on a DP nitrous kit with no pills in it....

its actually looking very promising with our custom nitrous setup with 1 fuel and 1 nitrous solenoid over eacy cylinder and running a progressor...

we can map the fuel with the huge amount of fuel in the nitrous kit and run lots of nitrous... it takes 2 bottles or it will suck 1 dry in one pass...

With the controllers on the market do you even need that? How much HP are you trying to make?

considering he only has 3000$ invested in the power plant... we are hoping for about 2000hp if this works like that we will step it up and get a little bit nicer/larger motor with some decent heads (the heads on it now are the chinese casting 400$ pair) and its a set of diesel turbos that cost 300 a piece and a junk yard SBC... he's borrowing the solenoids from a friend or 2.

he did have some parts laying around from previous builds but most is just scrap/junk...

for how shitty of pieces are on it if it runs just as good as the 598 big chief'd motor with 2 kits we think it was well worth it...lol

Damn that was a long trip. We had a couple of issues with the transmission, the low gear band showed some heat so we replaced that and turned the drum on the lathe. There was a brass thurst washer that was broken for no apparent reason. We also found that the shifter would not adjust correctly so after trying 4 brackets we found one that would work. I'll try and get the trans back into the car tonight and post some pics.
